Drifting Blossoms Fall Card

Hi card making friends.  I’m circling back today to the last release from Simon Says Stamp, Season of Wonder and this pretty embossing folder, Drifting Blossoms Fall Card.  I felt like coloring yesterday, so I decided to give my copic markers a little love and color this pretty embossed image with some traditional fall colors.  I know – completely outside my color wheelhouse – but I did it, haha

With Thanksgiving sneaking up on us and all the leaves turning, it felt like the perfect time to color up this pretty embossing folder.  There are many techniques you can use on embossing folders as you know, and many are a lot faster than copic coloring, LOL.  I think this card took about 2 hours to color, but I was in the mood, it was very relaxing and I went with it.

How to create the Drifting Blossoms Fall Card

Start by cutting a white hammermill card front 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and embossing it with the Drifting Blossoms Embossing Folder

Next, color the raised images with copic markers:
Copics Used:

Yellow:  Y11, Y15, Y19, Orange:  Y17, Y38, YR04, YR18, Brown:  E31, E35, E57, E59, Red:  R20, R05, R27, R29

Then, color in the background with one of the brown markers.

Finishing Touches for the Drifting Blossoms Fall Card:

First, once you have finished coloring the image, go in with a white gel pen and add dots and highlights to the large flower centers.

Then, place the card front inside a splat box, and splatter it with white paint.

Finally, once dry, attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base:  4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″

Then add a printed sentiment from the Reverse Happy Sentiment Strips from Simon Says Stamp

After I finished this card, I thought that perhaps the background would have looked nice in a soft moss green too.  Next time!, LOL

    1. I tried not to use blue, LOL, it all but killed me, and I think it would have looked nicer with a pale green background, but too late, and I wasn’t going to color another one, haha. but thank you, so glad you like it.
