Gina K Pink Cone Flower

Hi paper crafting friends and welcome back to my card making blog.  Today I’m sharing Gina K Pink Cone Flower.

Gina K Pink Cone Flower

I was going with a Snarky Theme today:  Certainly the Gina K Colossal Cone Flower stamp set isn’t snarky at all, but the Hero Arts Snarky Mix & Match Messages are kind of fun and certainly contain a bit of “snark”, haha.

These flowers are so beautiful.  Bright and cheery and large.  These are 5 x 7 cards and the details are in the PDF download for you below.

I started by using my Misti to stamp the images in Gina K Amalgam  black ink on watercolor paper so I could use my Nuvo Brilliantly Vibrant Watercolor pencils to color them.

There is a coordinating set of dies to cut them out too (see links below), I fussy cut mine as I forgot to order the die set.

Before I cut them out, I placed the sheet back into my Misti and stamped the image again to refresh those nice crisp black lines.

For my card front I used the Gina K  Stencil “Thick Brush” and some Nuvo Glacier Paste to create a tone on tone background for my flower.  I wanted a little something back there, but really subtle so the embossing paste was perfect.

Next, I white heat embossed the larger of the sentiments onto black card stock and stamped the smaller one directly onto the card front.

    1. Thank you Kia, it was just a little to plain once I had all the pieces ready, so it needed just a little something going on back there

    1. haha, I know Deborah, this stamp set doesn’t have real serious snark, LOL, just enough to get away with you know!

    1. Thanks Nancy, they needed a little something in the background and I pretty much love stencils and paste, so here we are, haha

    1. thank you Meghan, I thought they were kind of fun and had a couple of friends in mind when I created them, haha

  1. Love this card, but of course, all your creations are awesome! I haven’t tried watercolor pencils so this was very interesting.

    1. aw, thank you Vicki, the watercolor pencils are very easy to use and have great pigment and a great price point too, consider giving them a try.

  2. Enjoyed the blog hop! Left comments on all or tried to! Several only gave me a Google option and I couldn’t just add my name and email, so I don’t think those comments actually posted.

Oh my gosh! The birthday card is….well it reminds me of an old boyfriend. I was about to turn 19 and he said that women hit their peak at 19, and then it’s all downhill. It bothered me, until I thought: Hey, just because he said it doesn’t mean it’s true. Jerk!!!!!! He only lasted days after that…. 🙂

    1. You’re right, he’s a jerk, sorry my card brought back such a bad memory, but at least you kicked him to the curb!

  4. Love your card and this set!! I am lucky to live in Wisconsin only a few miles away from the Gina K store and went in and bought this set soon after I saw your beautiful card… we are in the midst of getting 10 inches of snow between today and tomorrow so I hope to be doing some stamping with my new set!

    1. Hi Sue, lucky you, I would be in there daily, haha…..enjoy your stamping and ignore the snow, that’s what I do up here, haha
