Hello Did I Quack You Up

Hey cardies, welcome back.  Today I have some fun for you – check out my Hello Did I Quack you Up Art Journal Page.  Created with fun new products from AALL & Create.  My main character, that adorable Mr. Duck, is from #620 Farmyard Friends by Bipasha BK, isn’t he so cool?  I don’t often have time to play in my journals so this was a super fun break from cards for me, however you could incorporate it into a card too.

All supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no cost to you and product disclosure is below.  As always, I appreciate your support of my Blog and YouTube Channel.

How to create the Hello Did I Quack you Up Art Journal Page:

Cut watercolor paper to 7″ x 7″ lay the #143 Creatively Crossed Stencil over the top portion of the page and spritz with Dylusions Lemon Zest Ink Spray. (this creates my sunshine).

Next, remove and clean the stencil.

Once the piece is dry, lay the stencil back over and add Tim Holtz Crackle paste to some of the crosses.

Use a blending brush and Broken China Distress Oxide ink and blend a border around the entire piece.

Finally, add bits of Mowed Lawn around the bottom as well.

Adding the Bottom Bubble Border (say that fast 3 times, haha).

Next, place the Bubble side of the #35 Bricks and Bubble Stencil across the bottom of the page and add Hero Paste.  Let dry.

Place the clean stencil back over the dried bubbles and use a blending brush and different colors of ink to add color to the bubbles.

Finally, add a strip of the #28 Joyful Words Dark Washi Tape just above the bubbles.  Outline the bubbles with a fine tipped black sharpie.

When I think of ducks I always think of a garden full of flowers, green grass, a pond and blue skies.  Maybe that is where I’ve only seen them, but it’s a happy place for me, so I filled the remainder of the space on my page with lovely flowers.  These floral bunches are also included in the #620 Farmyard Friends stamp set and water colored before cutting out.

Putting the piece together.

Once all the pieces have been created it’s time to put the piece together.

Place the page into a 12 x 12 Misti and Stamp the Duck image on the left side in dark black ink.  This is where the sentiment comes from.

Add #362 Splodge by Autour de Mwa for some added ink drops

Next, Stamp the Duck again on watercolor paper and give him a light wash in blues, greens and purples.  Cut him out and glue him to the page.

Lift his butt slightly and add a floral behind it.

Finally, glue the additional florals into place and a some white gel pen highlights to the flowers.
