Hero Arts Luggage Fancy Dies

Hi card making friends, welcome back.  Today I have a Tim Holtz inspired card using the new Hero Arts Luggage Fancy Dies.  These fabulous luggage dies are part of the August 2022 release add ons and boy are they fun to create with.  Adding to that, the vintage “Road Signs Bold Print” Background stamp and a whole bunch of distress inking for the background of my card.

The Luggage Fancy Dies Set has a variety of 5 different size and shapes of luggage.  In addition there is a hat box, a globe, and address tags to hang from the handles of the luggage.  This gives you open season on creating cards.  I also used the sentiment set that came in the MMH Aug 2022 kit for today’s card share.

When choosing my colors I reflected back to my childhood to suitcases and trunks we had in our basement.  We had quite a variety of different ones and I think some where our grandparents too.  I remember being very excited when my mom gave me one of the smaller ones to keep all my Barbie clothes in.  It was very similar to the one at the top of my pile.

How to create the Hero Arts Luggage Fancy Dies Card;

Start by cutting out the luggage you wish to have in your card.

Next, color them.  I used Copic Markers and then covered the silver pieces with Glossy Accents

Next,  using the watercolor paper and Bronze Pearl Ex that comes in this months kit, I made a wash for the background.

Then, I used my Misti to stamp the Road Signs Bold Print background stamp in Pitch Black Ink.

Next, I created a second black and white background piece using plain white cardstock and cut out some of the road signs down the left side.

I distressed these and the edges of the background piece with Distress Inks in Walnut Stain and Ground Expresso.

Then, I added  Aged Mahogany and Wild Honey Distress Crayons, blending them in with a wet brush

Finally, I added all the pieces to the card front with foam squares to add a bit of depth to my card.

I added a sentiment white embossed on a scrap of black cardstock using the sentiment stamp set that also comes in this month’s kit.

NOTE – I also think these would make great masculine birthday cards too.
