Hi card making friends and welcome back to my blog. It’s Day two of the new SPLENDOR release from Simon Says Stamp and I have another cute card to share with you. Hoppy Easter masked Bunnies. Gosh, I’m laughing, now that I have named the title etc. you will be expecting a little Spanish bunny with a Zorro mask atop his horse Toronado, stealing from the rich to give to the poor, haha. It’s the OTHER kind of Masking, LOL. But a Zorro bunny would be cute, LOL

I didn’t get the dies with this stamp set so I was sitting and thinking what to do with these cute little fellows. I decided to mask them so I could add a stenciled “wallpaper” background because hey, I’m just not ready to finish playing with this Hearty Tweed Stencil quite yet. I used the Gina K Masking Magic Sheets, and the Gina K Amalgam Black ink to stamp the bunnies on my card front, and onto the Masking Sheet. You want to use a permanent ink that will not bleed when another water based ink is applied over it.
PRO-TIP Masking Paper, has a white smooth side you stamp on, once you cut out the image, you peel off the backing where the sticky backing is exposed, and stick it over your stamped image to protect it from ink while you do your background technique.
I have a masking video over on my YouTube channel here
How to create the Hoppy Easter Masked Bunnies
Start by using a Misti to stamp the bunnies near the bottom of a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Hammermill white cardstock. Then, also stamp the image onto a piece of Gina K Masking Magic. Cut out the masking magic bunnies (cutting half of the black outline off too) and place the masks over each of the bunnies.
Next, secure the card front to the stencil mat. Place the Hearty Tweed stencil over the card front and then use a blending brush to add the ink.
Pawsitively Saturated Inks Used: Bubble Gum, Sweets and Taffy.
Finishing the Card:
Then, remove the stencil and the masks (save them you can use them 3 – 4 times), and place the card front back into the Misti to stamp the sentiment.
Finally, add foam tape to the back of the piece and attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base.
I also colored the noses and cheeks with Copic RV02.
Super easy and fun card to make.
