Hi cardmaking friends. I am playing with some new products today, Memory Box Curved Magnolia Branch. This is a new release from Memory Box and they are stunning. The series of dies is all about the Magnolia Branch, one of my most favorite signs of spring. They don’t grow here, so it was fun to sit and make my own. There is an entire set of Dies, embossing folders and select pattern paper for this release and you can view them all here at SIMON SAYS STAMP. I could not resist this set and confess to ordering almost all of it, so you will be seeing more cards very soon, haha. For today, I have my first beauty to share with you.
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.
These dies cut like butter, they are beautifully etched and add great detail. Making cards with them is super easy as all you have to do is add a bit of color.
DISTRESS OXIDE INK USED:
I used Distress Oxide Inks for todays card in:
Seedless Preserves for the flower centers
Gathered Twigs for the branch
Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Pine Needles for the leaves.
I added the color with small blending brushes from Simon Says Stamp and Waffle Flowers
How to create the Memory Box Curved Magnolia Branch card:
Start by die cutting all the pieces from Hammermill white cardstock
Use the Curved Magnolia Branch, and for the additional buds, the Magnolia Bud Trio
Next, using the small blending brushes, add the colors. For the leaves, cover the entire leaf in Mowed Lawn and then add the other two colors over top.
Then, Glue all the pieces together. Reference the die package for placement.
Putting the Memory Box Curved Magnolia Branch Card Together:
Start by cutting a piece of the Memory Box Magnolia Grove 6 x 6 paper to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and mount it to a piece of black cardstock 4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″.
Next, mount this to a top folding A2 sized white card base.
Then, use small pieces of foam squares on the back of the die cut piece to mount it to the left side of the card.
Finally, die cut the Handwritten Hello die in black and gold. Stack them and attach to the card also with foam squares.
I’ve created a downloadable PDF file for you with all the instructions, photo and supply list. You can save it in your computer or print it off to help you recreate the card.
