Hello cardmaking friends and welcome back. Today I have two Mini Slimline Dandelion Messages cards to share with you. The Dandelion Messages Card Kit went live at Simon Says Stamp last week and I just got my kit so I hopped right in to play with it.
Both these cards are 10 Minutes to Wow Cards as well – meaning they are super easy to make, take less than 10 minutes – and WOW are they pretty.
There is a beautiful selection of products in this kit.
- Dandelion Messages 6 x 8 stamp set
- 8 x 8 Creative Expressions Dandelion Dreams paper (12 sheets)
- Sizzix Dandelion Wish Embossing Folder
- Simon Says Stamp Dandelion Die
- A beautiful sheet of Tim Holtz Rose Gold and Copper Kraft Paper
- 2 pieces from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Accoutrements 2 Fanciful Pack (longest name ever, LOL)
- Card stock from Simon Says Stamp in Cornflower, Lavender, Lemon Chiffon and Solar White
- Matching envelopes
- and a Rina K Designs Mini Hello Yellow Neon Glitz
For today’s card shares I made cards two ways. The top one uses a piece of the beautiful pattern paper from the kit. The bottom one I ink blended.
With 12 sheets of beautiful 8 x 8 pattern paper in the kit you can make two cards with each sheet.
Then you still have the stamp set, the die and the coordinating embossing folder to create with so you can get huge mileage from this kit.
How to create the Mini Slimline Dandelion Messages Card #1
Use the Simon Says Stamp Mini Slimline Rectangles to cut out the pattern paper
Next, place the pattern paper into the Misti and stamp the dandelion stamp on the left side with VersaFine Clair Monarch ink It’s a beautiful Dark Purple and shows beautiful on this pattern paper.
Cover with clear embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set it.
Add the Sentiments:
Cut the “thanks” sentiment in black and white using the Simon Says Stamp Script Thanks die set. Then use the fine tip of the Bearly glue to layer them
To stamp the small sentiment, cover the “thank you” with a piece of washi tape before inking the stamp with VersaMark Ink
Remove the washi tape and stamp the image over on the right side of the card.
Cover with white embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.
The Final Steps:
Use Scor Tape to attach the pattern paper to the top folding Mini Slimline Card Base
Finally, use the Bearly glue to attach the die cut sentiment above the heat embossed one.
For the second card I wanted to share an idea not using the pattern paper.
Instructions for Card #2
Die cut another Mini Slimline Card front with the dies – it’s approximately 3-1/8 x 6-1/8
Ink blend strips in Distress Oxide Inks: Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac
Dry the ink with a heat tool before stamping and embossing the dandelion image and sentiment in white.
Final Embellishment:
Use three sizes of the clear/silver Seaglass sequins from Simon Says Stamp. Attach them with the Bearly Glue and the Studio Katia Embellishment Wand
Measurements for Mini Slimline Cards:
Card Base: 6-1/2 x 7, score and fold at 3-1/2 on the 7 inch side for a finished 3-1/2 x 6-1/2 card base.
I use the Mini Slimline Rectangles dies from Simon Says Stamp so the card front is 3-1/8 x 6-1/8
