Multi Layer Stamping and the Spotlight Technique

Hi card making friends and welcome back.  As promised here is the second video Multi Layer Stamping and the Spotlight Technique using the beautiful Altenew Handpicked Bouquet stamp set.

I also used the Misti extensively for this technique and I show you how to stamp both sides of the floral image without moving the stamps, you can’t do that with an acrylic block! LOL

Spotlighting just a portion of the black and white image is a beautiful way to highlight your design and add interest to your card.  Multi Layer Stamping also provides depth to your colored image.

Inks Used for the Multi Layer Stamping and the Spotlight Technique Card:

  • Blues:  Dew Drops, Aqualicious and Teal Cave
  • Greens:  Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades
  • I used Jet Black for all the outline stamping

Using the Stitched Rectangle Wafer Dies from Simon Says Stamp to die cut the center “SPOTLIGHT” piece also adds interest and a nice finished edge to the art piece.

Multi Layer Stamping and the Spotlight Technique

This technique will work with most of the Layered Stamp Sets from Altnew, just pick your favorite and grab some ink and your MISTI.

Another bonus to this stamp set, if you don’t feel like doing the multi layer stamping, just stamp the outline image and copic color or watercolor it.  It’s an amazing multi technique stamp set.

I am using Hammermill cardstock for my cards.  100 pound weight.  It’s whiter than Neenah, smoother and cheaper.  It is also now recommended in copic classes, so you don’t need separate paper for separate techniques.  It makes great card bases too.

You can get this paper through Amazon and if you have AMAZON PRIME, it usually comes in a couple of days and qualifies for free shipping.

If you happen to have missed yesterday’s post using the same stamp set, you can see it here:
