NEW Card Making Video – 3D Embossing Folder Watercoloring

Hi card making friends and welcome back.  Today I have a New Card Making Video – 3D Embossing Folder Watercoloring Technique to share with you.  I saw this beautiful card that my online friend Enna Adams created over on Instagram.   she is @RitzyHag over there and worth following, she is an amazing artist.  So I asked her if I could make a video with her technique and she said yes, YEAH!, and thank you Enna.

This technique creates the most beautiful cards with no experience necessary and you probably have all the supplies you need in your stash.

You are seriously going to be blown away by the ease of this technique.  Plus you only use three colors of Distress Ink Refills to attain all these beautiful colors.

I’m also using the Feb 2023 Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder for today’s projects.  Last month’s sold out in 3 days, so don’t wait on these.  There are 8 card samples in all shared in the video, and I used to other embossing folders, 3D Leafy and 3D Beautiful Blooms, all from Spellbinders.

Finally, as you saw in the video, I grabbed a couple more embossing folders and kept on playing.  It was so much fun I just couldn’t stop, LOL.

Next, we have the cards created with the Beautiful Blooms Embossing Folder.

Spellbinders Embossing Folders are very large, 5.5 x 8.5 to allow for all card sizes.

Therefore, by simply placing the watercolor panel in different parts of the embossing folders, you get a completely different look.

Next, we have the Spellbinders Leafy 3/D embossing Folder.

Finally, I pressed a little too hard with the VersaMark Ink for the gold embossing on these cards.  But, it did make them look magical!

NOTE:  In Enna’s instructions, she uses an Altenew Gold Ink pad for her cards.  I don’t have one, which is why I went for the embossing.

I’ve created a downloadable PDF file for you with all the instructions, photo and supply list.  You can save it in your computer or print it off to help you recreate the card.

  1. Wow! That is quite the process to create the cards but the end result is fabulous! I think i would frame one of I received it! Thanks for the video. Which one was your favorite?

    1. haha, by the time I finished all 8 cards I thought the same thing, haha, I need to frame this. I probably will frame one of them as I’m looking to add some art work to my studio
I think my favorite is the one done with the Beautiful Blooms embossing folder. I love those big flowers

      1. Definitely frame one for your craft room! I think my favorite is the Hello you done with the Beautiful Blooms one too.

  2. OMGOSH 😱 Sandi,
Your technique is beyond fabulous and knocked right out of the ballpark into the Universe for all to enjoy! Being an embossing folder fan from the start, I’m definitely trying your technique! I may even sign up with Spellbinders EF Club thanks to you! It’s being featured on Papercraft Medley. Thank you for all your diligent work; you are appreciated.

  3. All are stunning! I do have a question I do not have reinkers so I was thinking if I just smoosed my ink pads
down on my surface and spritzed on some water and put my paper in it that might work??? I do have colorbursts not sure about thoes. Any ideas for me?

    1. Hi Delane. so yes it will work but the colors won’t be as vivid. reinkers are very concentrated, that’s how you get the deep beautiful colors.
You could mix some of your colorbursts with water, they are also highly concentrated, so you should be able to get some nice bright colors with them as long as you don’t add too much water.

  4. Amazing! Looks like so much fun and the results are incredible. Can’t wait to give it a try. The video is well done and so easy to see each step. Thanks, Sandi!
