Recently Arteza sent me a few supplies to try out and do a review on. And please let me start by saying, I am by no means an expert on water coloring, but I have been water coloring card fronts for 20+ some years and have played with a huge variety of products sold in our crafting industry, so I’m comparing these products to those.
So, today’s post is about their 36-piece Watercolor paint
and their 14 Sheet 100% Cotton, 140 lb Watercolor Pad
And here’s the video. I start by sharing the paint and paper, then I watercolor the card front and then I create the rest of the card in the video, so if you just want the review, it’s at the beginning, and the card making after I have colored starts at: 3:37
And if you are reading this in an e-mail, click HERE to visit my blog to watch, or you can watch it in HD over on my YouTube Channel.
The Short and Dirty about the two products – and this is truthful, not just because they sent me free product.
The Watercolor Paint gets 4 Stars
Why not 5? they need more green. Otherwise, as stated in the video, the paint is lovely, easy to work with, goes on very smoothly and blends well too.
The Watercolor PAD gets 5 stars
I love this pad of paper. the 100% cotton is sheer love, you can fiddle with paint forever without it pilling, and minimal warping, I didn’t even tape it down to a hardboard.
If I had anything negative to say about it, it’s a little pricey, but I have come to learn, you get what you pay for.
So, as far as the crafting industry and cardmaking, I would recommend both these products and I’ll be continuing to use them.

Hi Sandy. REALLY enjoyed watching this watercoloring video, with all of your tips. That inlaid die is fabulous! Question: you mentioned in your paint review that you have worked with paints that are waxy. Can you tell me which ones to stay away from? I am fairly new to watercoloring, but I love the look and want to invest in some good paints.
Also, at the beginning of your post, you mentioned a code for Scrapbook.com, but I didn’t see one.? Thanks!
Hi Carol. The altenew watercolor paints are really waxy and do not blend well at all unless you work them to death, LOL.
No code required for the Scrapbook.com sale, just click the link and shop….have fun.
Thanks so much! I almost bought the Altenew paints. Whew!
if you are just starting out and want a set of paints that will last as you progress, buy the Arteza, you will be much happier
