Hello my cardmaking friends, I have a NEW VIDEO – Distress Oxides Color Combos and Cards #2 to share with you today and a Winter Wonderland.
In my neck of the woods it’s been – 40 something all week and we have warmed up today to a balmy -27 whoo hoo….so I had snowflakes on the brain. And because I paid a huge ransom to get my Simon Says Stamp January Card kit from the Post Office, haha….kidding – But Man are they slow getting parcels to us right now, this was like 2 weeks late…..Suffice as to say, the kit is sold out long ago, but you can still purchase the products separately and I’m using some of them today.
Ok, enough complaining about the post office, let’s get to blending some ink. This week it’s BLUES…..my fav – yeah!
From light to dark, Tumbled Glass, mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch. Absolutely beautiful together. Card #2 (below), has this blend, from top to bottom, but for card #1 and in the video, I’m going to show you how to blend in a circle around the card, just for a little change up and a bit of a different look.
This technique creates a light center and gradually works out to a darker edge which provides a nice frame for your artwork.
Something else a little bit different, I started with a piece of Sea Glass card stock from Simon Says Stamp. (it’s a light blue, see the sentiment piece).
By starting with a blue base, you do half as much blending, yeah!

The Snowflake Builder Stamp Set is a Two Step Stamping Set.
When you receive your stamp set you will see dash lines around groupings of two snowflake stamps. That means they go together; you stamp the larger one first and then fill in with the smaller one. (I share this in the video). There are a variety of sizes of these layered snowflakes, to create tons of different cards and I’ll be back with more to share very soon.
In the bottom right corner of the card I did a die cut overlay over the embossed snowflake. In the January 2020 Snowflake Builder card kit, there was a “Mini Snowflake Mandala” die, this is it. Cut out of Gold Mirror card stock. The die is absolutely fabulous and worth getting for your stash.

For Distress Oxides Color Combos and Cards #2 second card, I did the blended background the same as last week, starting with light at the top and working down to the dark at the bottom. This one is also done on the Sea Glass blue card stock to save some time.
Same heat embossing and this time I cut this beautiful NEW (LARGE) Snowflake Mandala out of Gold Mirror card stock to add to the front.
The Banner sentiment is also created with the Snowflake Builder Stamp Set.
I added gold and white splatter to the background before embellishing with the “Raindrops” Sequins from Simon Says Stamp. Raindrops at -40 = snowflakes – haha…..I figured!
