A new card-making video is up today, How to Create the Milky Way with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays. I was playing with the new Spellbinders, Simon Hurly, and Simon’s Space Adventure Release, full of Rocket Ships, Space Ships, and aliens. I needed to create some galaxy backgrounds, so I decided to turn on the video camera and show you how I made them. Then, I jump into creating all three cards I’m sharing today.

How to create the Milky Way with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays – Card Instructions
All the cards are White A2 sized cards, 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2.
The milky way backgrounds are all done on watercolor paper with Distress Oxide ink Sprays
The third card shows you how to do a ink blended background if you would prefer.
The video begins with How to Create the Milky Way with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays.
I start by walking you through the steps I took to make the Milky Way card fronts for my cards.
Next, while the fronts are drying, I share how I used the dies to cut out the rocket ship and moons for the first two cards.
Then, I share an alternative card front if you don’t have Distress Oxide Sprays, or you don’t want to use them.
I ink blended this background with Simon Says Stamp Cadette and Night, and the red is Gina K Cherry Red. I was trying to keep this as a patriotic red, white and blue card with the yellow moon and stars really popping of the blue background.
Card #3 in the How to Create the Milky Way with Distress Oxide ink Sprays.
Finally, card 3 has the same background, and the UFO Friends Die set was used to add the spaceship, alien and Saturn. Saturn is a very cool die cut and I used paper stained with Lindy’s Magicals for it and the top of the space ship.
