Ellen Hutson Essentials Mondo Amaryllis

This stamp and die combo is simply amazing and you know I bought it to color.  However, that’s not always feasible when mass producing Christmas cards, so here are a couple if quick and easy ideas using this FABULOUS stamp.

Ellen Hutson Essentials Mondo Amaryllis

I LOVE to heat emboss, so here we go again, gold embossing on a A2 White top folding card base.  Super Simple Right?  Add a splash of color by dipping into your scrap bin to color block the sentiment.  Here I used Soft Stone and Tranquil Teal from Gina K.  Add a sprinkle of fabulously gold sequins and you’re done.

Step it up a bit more by doing a Deep Dive into that scrap bin, and color blocking the entire background, gold emboss the sentiment and then gold emboss the floral image onto gold mirror cardstock…..FABULOUS, but really hard to take a picture of, haha.

Same cardstock as above but I added Fresh Asparagus also from Gina K

Color blocking is super simple.  I cut a bunch of strips 8-1/2 inches long:

  • Fresh Asparagus cut at 2″ and 1″ wide
  • Tranquil Teal cut at 1/2″ and 1-1/2″ wide
  • Soft Stone cut at 1/2″ Wide

My base was 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″, (white) I covered it with a large amount of adhesive, or you could use an adhesive sheet,

then I laid on the strips, starting from the bottom working to the top.

When I was done, I cut it in half at 4-1/4 to provide the card front for the second card.  I gold heat embossed the sentiment on the second piece and cut around it to save the other pieces for future cards.

Time to take a dive into your scrap bin and see what color combo you come up with.

Here’s the video for today’s cards, you can watch it here or in HD over on my YOUTUBE channel.

    1. You did it again! You surprised me with another stunning set of cards. I love your talent.

I’m going to take you way back for a moment. Years ago I downloaded a PDF from year, thinking I was going to do them up right away, but time got away with me. I’m looking at the date, August 2010. Tick Tock–Let’s make a clock.

Wow, I’ve been following you for a long time!

Every week I get together with four girlfriends and we have a meal then knit, chrochet, or do whatever. We celebrate birthdays in February, as three of them have birthdays in Jan/Feb. This year I am going to get clocks done for each of them, and one for myself. If I get them done as planned, I’ll get in touch and show you my blog link.

      Hugs, Beth

      1. I know you have Beth and thank you so much for that. I hope you have a blast creating those clocks, I’m thinking I should dig around and see if I still have enough products to make one, would be fun to recycle that idea again. Sounds like you have a fabulous group to craft with and I can’t wait to see your clocks.
