Orchid Rose Bouquet

Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back.  Today I have two cards to share with you using the Simon Says Stamp Orchid Rose Bouquet from the Seasons of Sentiments card kit for February.

This beautiful kit contains two stamp sets this month, the 6 x 8 Orchid Rose Bouquet set and a lovely sentiment set.  Fabulous pattern paper and cardstock, a cute sentiment die which I used on my first card.  Embellishments, tape runner and pink glimmer paper.  Again, a great value – View the Seasons of Sentiment Kit.

Creating the Slimline Orchid Rose Bouquet Card:

Use the Misti to stamp the image onto a 3-1/8 x 8-1/8 piece of white hammermill cardstock using copic friendly black ink.

  • Color the image with copic markers:
    Blues:  B0000, BG 53, BG45, BG57
  • Green:  G1, G24, G28
  • Purple:  BV0000, V12, V15, V17
  • Yellow:  Y15
  • Gray:  N0

Next, mat to a black piece cut 3-1/4 x 8-1/4 and then attach to a card base 7 x 8-1/2, scored and folded at 3-1/2

Adding the Sentiment:

Use the Miss You Waffer Die to cut the sentiment from the pink glimmer paper and cut the mat from vellum

Finally, attach the sentiment with foam squares.

This is a super clean and simple slimline card – but I really love the color combo and how it turned out.

My Second Orchid Rose Bouquet Card:

A simple mixed media card for this one.  Stamp the image on one of the sheets of the patterned paper included in the kit.

Cut it out and mount it to a A2 sized piece of Cotton Candy cardstock.

Finally, mount to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Stamp the sentiment in black ink.

I decided to leave this one alone and not embellish it further.  I love the newsprint effect of the patterned paper.  You could add shades of gray in the shadows of the flower if you wanted more depth.
