Hi stamping friends and welcome back, hope you’re having a great day. Today’s share is Panda Hugs, another card I colored for the #thedailymarker30day coloring challenge.
When I place my Simon Says Stamp orders each month I usually hit the “what’s new” button and treat myself to a couple extra goodies. A few months back, this adorable stamp set Lovely Pandas From Gerda Steiner Designs jumped into my basket. Well, I unpacked that order, and placed all the stamps into a bin and never quite got back to them until the other day when I was looking for something fast and quick to color…..AND CUTE!….and here we are.
Isn’t this stamp set adorable, I love that it has adorable sentiments too. AND, there are matching dies also. Simon Says Stamp has a great selection of her stamps you can see them here.
In the background I used the Simon Says Stamp Fog Gray Ink and my Life Changing Brushes with the Mosaic Heart Stencil.
Then I stamped that adorable little bear and the hearts in the Memento Black Ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# card stock and colored the images with my copics. When finished I used the coordinating Lovely Pandas Dies to cut the little guy out and fussy cut three of the hearts.
NOTE….look closely at the bear. To make him a little fluffy looking, I used the dots technique with three colors of pens….just start with the lightest, and work towards the darkest, adding tiny dots with the fine tip.
COPIC TIP: Do you have new markers that release big blobs of ink? If so, take both lids off….this will level off the pressure in your pen, and stop those blobs…..It happened to me on this card, so thought I would share.
Copic Markers used for the Panda Hugs Card:
- Light Grays: C0 C1 C2 – shadows around his body and under his chin, and on his tail.
- Dark Grays: C6 C7 C9 – for the darker spots….a circular motion with the pens also makes him kind of fluffy. You can also use the N2 N4 N6 series for these colours.
- Reds: R35 R46 R59 – balloon and hearts.
I mounted the card front onto a Neenah Solar white 110# card base A2 size
and then attached the little guy with Foam Tape just to add a little depth to the card.
Super simple, and super fast, although I enjoyed coloring him so much I did 3 so I have two more cards to make, but I have a friend who could use a hug, so this is off to her.
