Picket Fence March Release

Hi card making friends and welcome back.  Today is the Picket Fence March Release day!

Pretty new Stamps, stencils, fun bundles and more this month.  I am honored to be asked in as the Guest Designer for March as I really love working with their products.  I have a few to show you today and tomorrow and check out the PICKET FENCE STUDIOS website to see the entire new release.

This stamp set is called Early Tulip Bouquet.  I colored the tulip images with Copics and cut them out.  Before attaching them to my card base, I brushed it with Distress Oxide Inks in Broken China, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn

Early Tulip Bouquet Stamp Set

Big and Beautiful, and so fun to color.  Fills about half of an A2 sized card leaving you plenty of room to add one of the sentiments

I also splatted a bit of the  Broken China over the white portion before stamping the sentiment that also comes in the Early Tulip Bouquet Set.  Finally, I added a few clear dots from Buttons Galore and More – Salt Water collection.

My second card also uses the Early Tulip Bouquet stamp set.  This time I stamped the top and bottom images again coloring them with copic markers.

The sentiment also from the set, is white embossed onto a scrap of black card stock and attached across the card with foam adhesive.

I had a lot of fun with the second item.  This is the A Whale of a Tail die.….my goodness, it cuts like butter.  Good thing, because I cut it a bunch of times and did the “Paper Piecing/Inlaid” technique to add all these colors to the card front.

I cut it in black first and then glued that down to a black card base.  Next I cut each color and inlaid each piece.  It took about 2 hours, but I had sirius radio cranked up and really had a good time with it. ( it was snowing out for the second day so I was trying to ignore that, haha).

If you didn’t want to do the inlaid work, you could die cut it and lay it over a watercolor panel, or an alcohol ink panel, both would work well.

A whale of a Tail Die

As you can see, there is a ton of beautiful detail in this die and I’m looking forward to playing with it again soon.
