Hi cardmaking friends hope you are having a great Monday. I’m back with another stamp set from the Simon Says Stamp Release Born to Sparkle. This is Rainbow Party Balloons
This is a lovely red rubber 6 x 6 background stamp so you can make cards in a variety of sizes. I decided on 5 x 7 for today’s cards.
How to create the Rainbow Party Balloons Card:
Start by white heat embossing the image onto white cardstock cut 4-1/2 x 6-1/2
Next Use Distress Oxide Inks to blend the colors on in Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon
Use a dry cloth and rub over the entire area to remove any ink sitting on top of the embossed image.
Finally, mat it to a piece of black cardstock before attaching it to the white card base.
Adding the Sentiment:
The sentiment is also from this release and it’s a great die called Congrats on a line.
It’s cut out of black cardstock and added to the card front before attaching to the matt, allowing for trimming the ends to fit.
To create the Second card and step it up a bit.
The first steps are the same as card one.
Once the ink blending is finished, place the Large Chevron Stencil over the piece and use smaller blending brushes to add more ink through the stencil where it overlaps the balloons
This adds a bit of texture to the balloons allowing them to stand out more from the background.
Finally, for the sentiment, cut it out three times and stack the dies before attaching them to the card.
This makes the sentiment much more substantial and dramatic

Party Balloons is my current most favorite of favorite stamps. I am having so much fun playing with it. It is the most versatile stamp I’ve bought in a long time. It works for so many different occasions.
Thanks, Sandi for your interpretation – love your idea of putting texture on the balloons.
