Scrappy Tails Ocean Themed Cards

Hey card making friends, welcome back.  Today I’m sharing two Scrappy Tails Ocean Themed Cards.  Scrappy Tails was kind enough to send me part of their new Ocean Themed release and I had some fun with it.  These beautiful die cut sets create 5 x 7″ sized cards (or just under), giving you lots of room to be super creative.

I really enjoyed putting the Pelicans together, they have layered pieces so it was easy to ink blend them before gluing them down.  The dies cut beautifully and give you beautiful crisp pieces to work with.

I ink blended everything for both cards using Rangers Distress Oxide Inks and I’ll give you the colors under each card as we go along.

How to create the Scrappy Tails Ocean Themed Cards – Pelicans:

Start by die cutting out all the pieces and ink blending them with Distress Oxide Inks:

Weathered Wood, Black Soot, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple.

Next, glue the layers together and add small pieces of foam tape behind each.

To create the card front:  Cut a piece of white cardstock 4-3/4 x 6-3/4″.  Ink blend the top portion with Salvaged Patina, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon.

Next, create the sand using Weathered Wood.  Where the two colors join, use a white gel pen to create the bubbles.

Finally, attach the card front to a 5 x 7 side folding white card base.  Then attach all the die cut elements.  Place the piece into the Misti and stamp the sentiment in the top left corner.

Start by die cutting the Seashell Cover Plate from White card stock and then ink blending the images.

Distress Oxide Inks Used:  Peacock Feathers, Abandoned Coral, Brushed Corduroy, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet.

Next, cut another piece of white cardstock the same size.  Lightly ink blend the Salty Ocean ink around the outside edge.

Then, Ink blend a piece of white cardstock with the Brushed Corduroy and die cut the sentiment, sand dollar and star fish out of it.

Finally, Layer all the pieces to a side folding white card base.  Embellish with some gold gems.
