Hi card making friends, I have something a little different for you today, Simon Says Stamp Acetate Bats Halloween Cards. They sent me the Acetate Bats Foil Transfer Sheets, new this month, but I don’t have any black foil. So, I ink blended a spooky moon card front and added the Acetate Bats as an overlay. Super easy and a super fun way to make quick Halloween Cards.

As you may notice, I also don’t have any die cut Halloween sentiments, so these cards are blank, and I’ll stamp a sentiment inside once I order a couple from Simon Says Stamp, haha. Who knew with all the stamps and dies I have in this studio that I’m missing this theme.
How to do the Masking Technique.
I used nested circle dies to cut circles out of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ pieces of white cardstock. Then the same dies to cut Gina K Designs Masking Magic. I used the first card stock piece as a stencil to ink blend Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Inks onto the card front. I dried the ink with my heat tool and then placed the Masking circle over the moon and ink blended the rest of the card front.
Working on the Waffle Flower Grip Mat also helps as it holds the base paper in place so it doesn’t wiggle around. I got quite a bit of ink on it as you can see, but it easily washes off with a bit of dawn soap. Once this ink was dry, I splattered the pieces with white paint to look like stars.
Simon Says Stamp Acetate Bats Halloween Cards Card #1.
Start by creating a A2 sized white top folding card base, 4-1/4 x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2, or 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored and folded at 4-1/4″ for a side folding card.
Next, cut the card front from white cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ and secure to the Waffle Flower Grip Mat. Cover with the moon stencil and ink blend the Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade Ink through it. Heat set to dry.
Then, with the circle cut from the Masking Magic, peel off the protective cover from the back and lay it over the moon, making sure the edges are firmly pushed down. Ink blend with Wilted Violet and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Inks.
Finally, once the panels are dry, splatter them with white acrylic paint to look like stars. Then, position glue dots behind the bats so you don’t see them to secure the Acetate Sheets to the card front.
Simon Says Stamp Acetate Bats Halloween Cards – Card #2
Steps are identical to card one except I used a bigger die cut circle to try and line up the size of the moon on the Acetate.
Here are a few different sentiment dies that would be great with these cards:
