Hey crafty friends, welcome back. Today I’m sharing another Holiday card, Simon Says Stamp Falala Snowflake Card. This card combines a watercolor background, a shaker card and a beautiful die cut snowflake embellishment.
While I say Holiday card, by simply changing out the die cut embellishment, it could be a card for any occasion in the winter months.
How to create the Falala Snowflake Card:
Start by wetting a piece of watercolor paper and then adding Gansi Tambi watercolors. I used Pink, 34, 35, 36, Orange 31 and Yellow 42, 43 to create the watercolor wash background.
Next, use a clean wet brush to blend them together into each other and then let the piece dry.
finally, use strong adhesive to attach the dry watercolor panel to a top folding A2 sized white card base. (I used Hammermill 100 # here)
To create the frame around the outside I used the Simon Says Stamp A2 Thin Frame Dies and the Stitched Rectangle Wafer dies to cut it out.
Next, I glued a piece of clear acetate to the back of the frame and then added foam strips around the back side to create the shaker card.
Before attaching the acetate frame to the card front, I poured in the shaker guts ie: Simon Says Stamp Unicorn Confetti, the stars from Buttons Galore – Aloha mix and Silver Sequins. This Unicorn Confetti is so cool. It’s got a mother of pearl finish to it and it’s just beautiful inside shaker cards, although rather hard to photograph, LOL
Finally, remove the protective cover from the foam strips and attach the frame to the card front to capture the shaker guts.
To embellish the top of the Falala Snowflake Card:
Use the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Mandala Die to cut a white and a silver glitter snowflake. Offset them slightly while gluing them together so the silver just peeks out behind the white and glue them to the card front.
Die cut the Falala sentiment in the same manner, the background in white and the word in the silver glitter paper.
Layer them and then attach them to the card front over the center of the snowflake.
Due to the shaker card depth this card probably requires additional postage, or deliver it in person.
