Hey card making friends, welcome back. Today I have Simon Says Stamp Just Miss You 4 cards to share with you.
The Just Miss You stamp set is part of the September card Kit from Simon and mine just arrived so I busted into it for some stamping fun.
This is a fabulous kit and as I do each month I try and only use what is in the kit. I never have a problem because Simon ensures these kits are thoughtfully put together and coordinate beautifully.
The Just Miss You stamp set is a large 6 x 8 set with a ton of fun sentiments for current events. I’m also totally gaga for the Vicki Boutin Let’s Wander 6 x 8 paper. It’s just fabulous with designs on both sides, it was hard to decide which ones to use. NOTE, if you cut it carefully you can also get two cards from each piece.
Simon Says Stamp Just Miss You Card #1
Use the Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles to cut out the card front. Then I got out my NEW MISTI 2.0 (it rocks, you need one, LOL). and stamped the large and small hearts a bunch of times. Add the little dangily friend once.
Color the hearts with Copics R13, 14 and 19 and the little dangily dude in YG23.
The Sending Smiles die set also comes in this card kit. Cut it out in White and then use the Copics to color it, to ensure it coordinates beautifully.
I dug around in my scrap bin for a small piece of lime green card stock which I white heat embossed the second sentiment, (I think it’s Gina K Lime, but I’m not sure)
Finally, use the Jewel Picker that also comes in the kit to add some “SMILES” sequins. They come in the kit as well and gave me the idea for the lime green highlights on the card.
Simon Says Stamp Just Miss You Card #2
Send me Sequins and pretty paper, I’m going to make a shaker card…..and it was so easy with this paper.
Use the Rounded Corner Rectangles to cut the background and the front frame along with a piece of clear acetate (I use overhead projector plastic from the stationary store).
Glue the acetate to the back of the front frame and set aside to dry
Meanwhile, add a thin layer of foam around the outside edge of the pattern paper back. The Darice Adhesive Foam 33 Double sided strips are perfect for this application. Remove the protective strip from the foam, pour in a bunch of the “Smile” sequins and lay the top on top and press down to secure.
Take the same patterned paper as you used on the top frame and cut out the “sending Smiles Die to attach to the top of the acetate.
Fussy cut out a couple of flowers from left over pattern paper and attach and you are done……a beautiful shaker card….I didn’t mount it to a card base as there is plenty of room on the back to write a little something.
Simon Says Stamp Just Miss You Card #3
For the third card, I couldn’t resist the sun glasses paper, love them so much, and the great cloud stamp
Place a piece of Neenah 80# card into the Misti 2.0 and stamped the cloud. Remove the cloud and lay the sentiment over the paper where you want it to stamp.
Pick it up with the lid of the Misti and cover the second row of print with a piece of washi tape. Ink the top print with Sunshine Ink from Simon, REMOVE the washi tape and stamp.
Clean the stamp, this time cover the top row of print with the washi tape and ink the bottom in black. REMOVE the washi tape and stamp again……
There you go, two colored sentiment – yep, with the Misti it’s that easy.
Fussy cut around the clouds and trim the sides before using foam tape to attach it over the patterned paper (which is cut to 4 x 5-1/4)
Use the Jewel Picker that comes in the kit (seriously good stuff in this kit this month), and add a sprinkling of Smile Sequins around the sentiment – DONE
Simon Says Stamp Just Miss You Card #4
Here’s your 10 minutes to WOW card…..card base 5-1/4 x 8-1/2 scored and folded at 4-1/4. Cut the pattern paper at 4 x 5-1/4 and attach with a tape runner.
White heat emboss the sentiment on a 1/2 x 5 scrap of black card and angle snip the end before attaching it to the card.
Stamp two small hearts and color them with the same Copics used in card 1. Fussy cut them out and attach with Foam tape.
DONE
I didn’t even start to use half the stamps or pattern paper, I still have 4 – 1/2 sheets of the card stock left and tons of sequins. Feesibly, I could make 9 more cards without adding much of anything so these kits are excellent value.
You can wait each month to view the kit and order it for $34.99 but you run the risk of it being sold out, as this one is. Or you can sign up for the Subscription and get the kit for $29.99 each month (plus postage).
Don’t worry, you can still buy all the items individually and I have them listed below for you, but of course they are at regular price.
