Simon Says Stamp Layering Apples Cards

Hi card making friends.  Tonight is the New Just a Note release from Simon.  There are so many great products in this release it was hard to decide what to use first.  I LOVE layering stencils, so I’m starting with the Simon Says Stamp Layering Apples Cards.

There is a “back to school” theme to this release which I love.  I am a HUGE fan of stationary and back to school supplies, LOL.  Always have been. New pencils, never before used crayons and colored pencils.  New notebooks, brings back such great memories.  I still sneak into Staples and check it out haha.  Todays release instills that same excitement with new ink cubes, pencil stamp sets, a lined page background stamp, apple stencils and so much more.

Simon Says Stamp Layering Apples Cards

I had so much fun making these that I made 3 cards in my favorite apple colors.  Red for Honey Crisp, Green for Granny Smith and Yellow for Yellow Delicious.

There are 4 stencils in the set and they line up beautifully.  You could also do a line of each color if you wanted all your favorites on one card!.

How to create the Simon Says Stamp Layering Apples Cards:

Start with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ inch piece of white HAMMERMILL cardstock.

Next, Lay down the first stencil and add the lighter of the inks to the entire stencil.

Then, remove that stencil, and lay down the next one, that adds the shadow to the right side of the apple.  Using a Blending Brush, add the darker red.

Finally, add the third stencil using brown ink for the stem, then the 4th stencil adding the little green leaf.

  • Card Base:  Hammermill white 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″
  • Card Fronts:  Schoolhouse Red, Gina K Key Lime and Wild Dandelion  all 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.
  • Cut the art pieces down with the second from largest of the A2 Thin Frames.  Mat with a piece of Hammermill White cut to 3-3/4″ x 5″.  Add a foam sheet before attaching to the card base for a bit of dimension.

  1. These look so beautiful, Sandy! I am always drawn to tableaux like this w/ a color-coordinated frame. I adore all three versions. You did a phenomenal job!
