Hi crafty friends and welcome back. Simon Says Stamp New Release RAINBOWS just went live for June.
This is such a fun and happy release with so many fabulous new products and I’m sharing a couple of my favorites with you today. I’ve included a list all the new products for you with clickable links at the end of this post so you can drool over them, haha.
New ROSEVILLE BOUQUET EMBOSSING FOLDER
There’s a new EMBOSSING FOLDER IN TOWN. ROSEVILLE BOUQUET – It’s stunning and provides a beautiful DEEP impression every time. There are actually 4 new embossing folders and you can see them at the end of this post.
Details on how to create today’s cards:
Start by blending two colors of Distress Oxide Inks onto a Gel Plate with a brayer.
Next, lay white cardstock over the ink and press firmly all over to transfer the ink to the paper.
Set the card fronts aside and let dry.
This color combo (center) is Abandoned Coral and Squeezed Lemonade
Below is Abandoned Coral and Seedless Preservers
Next, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn
Finally, Bundled Sage and Salvaged Patina (I really love this one).
Let the card fronts dry or heat dry them with your heat tool.
TIP – To test if they are dry, sprinkle a bit of white embossing powder on the surface, if it sticks, the ink isn’t dry.
Once the card fronts are dry, place them into the embossing folder and run them through the die cutting machine to emboss them.
Next Steps for creating the Simon Says Stamp New Release RAINBOWS cards
On the first two cards, use a White Pigment Ink pad and gently pull it across the embossed image to transfer the ink. Pigment Ink does take a bit to dry so set them aside.
For the last two cards, pull a VersaMark Ink pad across all the raised parts of the image. Cover with White Embossing Powder, shake off the excess and heat set.
Attach all the card fronts to top folding A2 card bases.
I wanted to try both of these techniques to see which worked better. I ended up liking them both for different reasons. The white ink pad was more muted and soft. The embossing powder ones seem to highlight a bit more of the details. It could also be that I pushed harder on the white ink pad, who knows.
For the Sentiments:
Use a selection of Simon Says Stamp Dies for the sentiments. The second last card in green and yellow has a new one from this release “The Best”. I love the font on this one and it’s a two die set to cut the shadow for you as well which I really like having on my cards.
To Embellish:
Use a selection of Simon Says Stamp Sequins to embellish the cards. I chose, April Showers, Flowering Clover and Smiles Sequins.
