Hi card making friends, it’s me up here covered in snow AGAIN. I’m just going to ignore this week until Spring comes back. LOL. So I’m burying myself in card making and stitching. Today’s share, Simon Says Stamp Organic Leaves Embossed Resist Technique is obviously created with the NEW Organic Leaves Stamp. This is a 6 x 6, BUT, it’s not rubber as Simon usually does it’s a clear mount. It stamps beautifully and I have been having great fun with it this morning and of course, the Embossed Resist Technique. And check the end of the post, I did a Bali print too. (reminds me of batik material).

This technique is super easy. You use VersaMark Ink to stamp the image. Cover it with in this case, black embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set. Once cool, use blending brushes to add ink to the background and the embossed portions, “resist” the ink so the pattern shows through. Super easy, and so much fun.
I’ve used Simon’s Pawsitively Saturated Inks for today’s cards. They have a light, medium and Dark in each of their color families which makes creating beautiful Ombre Ink blended backgrounds so easy.
How to create the Simon Says Stamp Organic Leaves Embossed Resist Technique
Start by black heat embossing the image onto a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ panel of white card stock.
Next, using blending brushes, blend in the ink in Surf, Tropic and Ocean Inks. Use a dry cloth at the end to wipe off any ink that is sitting on top of the embossed image.
Then, cut the Boho Celebrate sentiment from vellum and black cardstock, glue together, add small foam strips to the back and attach to the card front.
Finally, add a printed sentiment from the Reverse Congratulations pack and some Surf Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.
Simon Says Stamp Organic Leaves Embossed Resist Technique Card #2
Same instructions as above, this time the ink is Tidepool, Tropic and Aegean.
Finish with the Birthday Wishes Die set and the Cool Tones Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.
Simon Says Stamp Organic Leaves Embossed Resist Technique Card #2 – the Batik technique
Start by stamping the image onto a white card front in Ocean Ink. Using a Misti is helpful here. Pick up the card stock and turn it 180 degrees and then stamp the image a second time in Tide Pool Ink. Trim to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and mount to a piece of Audrey Blue cardstock and then to a top folding A2 sized white card base.
Next, die cut the Fancy Father sentiment from Audrey Blue with a White shadow, glue together and attach to the card front.
Finally, add a printed sentiment from the Reverse Congratulations set and some surf Dazzling Gems.
This is a beautiful and large stamp with a solid image that lends itself to many different stamp and ink techniques. A must have for your stash.
