Simon Says Stamp Silhouette Sentiments

Hey cardmaking friends and welcome back.  It’s release day over at Simon Says Stamps with their amazing Make Magic Release and I have four Simon Says Stamp Silhouette Sentiments cards to share with you.  I’ve also included a Cardmaking Video for one of the cards at the end of this post.

handmade greeting cards created with new cardmaking products from the Simon Says Stamp Make Magic release

This Silhouette Sentiments stamp set is one of my favorites from the release because it’s so versatile and has a great selection of sentiments with it as well.

For my first two cards:

I did the Embossed Resist Technique:  White heat emboss the images into white card stock and then blend inks over them.

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry above.

Once completed, I die cut the image out with the Simon Says Stamps Wonky Rectangles dies for some added interest around the edge.

The second card is similar however I used Cracked Pistachio and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Inks for a softer shading.

I also stamped the main image twice to fill up the bottom portion of the card.

Finally, I thought about adding sequins, but decided there was enough going on.

For my third card, I used Distress Oxide Inks in antique Linen Evergreen Bough and Black Soot.  I’m channeling my inner Debby Hughes with this blend as I saw her make a beautiful slimline card with it.

Next, I also die cut the edge with the Wonky Rectangles dies, this time the middle sized one to create a mini art piece for the center of my card

Finally, I splatted the art piece with gold paint and added a few gold sequins.

The Final Card:

Is exactly the same as the previous card, changing out the background inks.

Distress Oxide Inks for this card are Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, Salvaged Patina and Squeezed Lemonade.

Next, I again splattered with gold paint.

Finally, I added a few gold sequins before attaching to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Here is the Video walking through the creation of the 3rd card.

  1. I really like these! Thanks for sharing all the details for newbies like me who try to get the same results and never know what products are used and often get discouraged. Hopefully I can gain some confidence with these. But first I just have to check out that southwestern card I see, “adventure awaits”.
