Hey there cardmaking friends. Up today, the new Simon Says Stamp October 2021 Card Kit. The Simon Says Stamp So talkative Stamp Set is the perfect additional to your sentiments stash, along with the Talk Bubbles Stencil.
The kit also has a “friend” word die, a whole set of Simon’s Card fronts, envelopes, a beautiful Kaleidoscope embossing folder, watercolor cards, a Zipper storage bag, AND one of their new Blending Brushes. I didn’t come close to using everything in this amazing kit today, but I’ll circle back another day with more inspiration.
Today’s cards also use Simon’s NEW Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads. They are well named, they are indeed saturated with ink and in the prettiest colors ever. I just got the set and I’m so excited to play with them. Heidi was telling us in the last live they have gone over so well, Simon have now ordered the entire line, including reinkers, (yeah) and they will start rolling them out. You can order the first set on reserve right now, and I’ve placed links at the end of the post for you.
Details on the Simon Says Stamp So Talkative Cards:
Both cards are top folding A2 sized cards using the blues and greens of the new Pawsitively Saturated Inks.
For Card #1
Use the Strips Die to die cut think and wide lines from 3 colors of the cardstock fronts.
Attach them to a card front and attach to a card base.
Next, blend Seafoam and Limelicious inks through the Talk Bubbles stencil.
Use a Misti to Stamp one of the sentiments from the So Talkative Stamp Set into the bubble
Fussy cut it out and attach to the card front with foam squares.
Finally, die cut the “friend” sentiment in blue and gold, overlaying the gold outside border before attaching to the bottom of the card.
Simon Says Stamp So Talkative Card #2
This time, ink blend down the front of the card base using the same Talk Bubble stencil and the green and blue inks.
Next, select a variety of stamps that will fit into the windows and use the Misti to stamp them.
TIP – I like to use VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink for this. It’s super black and the ink pads are super juicy so I only ever have to stamp once.
Bam, you’re done!
A little more info about these fabulous NEW Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads:
The colors are bright and cheery, the pad is so juicy and they stamp and blend beautifully. They are also water reactive so that’s an additional bonus for some creative fun.
You can watercolor with them too. The foam pad is raised for inking any size stamp and transfers just the right amount of ink. They are acid free and fade resistant.
The best part, they are labeled for easy convenient storage.
The first round is 5 color families with a light medium and dark in each one, making it super easy to layer your stamping and ombre too.
Simon also has a variety of ways in which to order these new ink pads. If you are like me and have the “whole set syndrome”, order them all, or order by color family, or individually, the choice is yours.
Please note: The ink pads are currently on a reserve order. So you can order and pay now and they will save a set for you. But remember, if you order anything else with that order, all items will be held and shipped at the same time. Just a heads up on that.
