Spellbinders April Glimmer Cards

Hi card making friends and happy Monday.  I have 4 Spellbinders April Glimmer Cards to share with you this morning from a variety of releases this month.  I thought I would create them all at once and share them all at once.  They include the Glimmer of the Month Kit, Glimmer Leaf Panel and 3 new plates from the Stylish Ovals Release.  I’m a little behind from being sick for a month, so this is my way of catching up, LOL

I was on a roll with the Waterfall cardstock and used it as the base of each card with different color combinations, different plates and dies, and embossing folders.

Spellbinders April Glimmer Cards

I’m going to start with the April Glimmer of the Month Club Kit Glimmer Leaf Panel.  Foiled twice, this panel covers the front of an A2 sized card base with these lovely leaves.

How to create the Spellbinders April Glimmer Cards #1

Start by using Polished Brass Foil to glimmer the front of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Waterfall card base with the Glimmer Leaf Panel.  Then, use the coordinating stencil to color in the leaves in Evergreen Bough and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks.

Next, create a white A2 sized top folding card base.  Attach a second piece of Waterfall cardstock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 to the front and then attach the foiled front panel with foam tape to pop it up.

Then, foil the two sentiments that come in this month’s kit using one for this card and saving one for another. Use foam squares to attach the sentiment across the center of the card front.

Finally, Cut three flowers with the NEW, Stylish Ovals Hello You Floral die set in white and cut the centers from gold cardstock.  Glue them together and attach them to the card again with foam squares to pop them up.

Spellbinders April Glimmer Cards #2

Cut a piece of Waterfall cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, place inside the Beautiful Butterflies 3D embossing Folder and run through the Platinum 6 die cutting machine

Attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base (4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″).

Next, foil the Stylish Oval Floral Bird Panel in Polished Brass onto a piece of Hammermill white cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.

PRO-TIP – Hammermill cardstock is super smooth and super white, perfect for your best foiling results.

Then, use the coordinating Stylish Oval Floral Bird layering Stencil to color in the bird image. Use Distress Oxide Inks in:  Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feather and Brushed Corduroy.

Then, use the Essential Stylish Ovals die set to cut out the image and a mat in Rainforest Green.

Finally, glue these two pieces together before mounting  them with foam squares to the embossed card front.

Then, add a black and polished brass foiled sentiment using the Making Me Smile Glimmer Sentiment set.

Spellbinders April Glimmer Cards #3

This card uses a bunch of new products from the Stylish Oval Release.

Start by using Polished Brass foil to foil the Stylish Oval Thanks plate onto Hammermill white cardstock.

Color the image with Copic Markers:  Pinks:  Rv10, RV21, RV15, Green:  YG03, Blues:  BG11, BG13, BG49

Next, cut the image out with the Essential Stylish Ovals, including a mat in Waterfall and a second in white.

Then, using a piece of Waterfall cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, and the Infinity Punch & Piece Plate, run it through the Platinum 6 die cutting machine.  Pop out the corner pieces and attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Finally, add the stacked ovals with foam tape.  Then, use the second sentiment from the first card and attach it across the center again with foam squares.

Spellbinders April Glimmer Cards #4

The new Beautiful Butterflies 3D embossing Folder is also part of the Stylish Ovals Release and it’s stunning, so I wanted to make a card to really show it off.

Start by creating a white card base 7″ x 8-1/2″, scored and folded at 3-1/2″.

Next, cut a piece of Waterfall cardstock 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, place inside the embossing folder and run through the Platinum 6 die cutting machine.

Then, attach it to the card front.

Using Polished Brass foil, foil the Fluttering By Glimmer plate onto a piece of Waterfall cardstock.  Use the coordinating dies to cut out a selection of different sized butterflies.

Finally, create a sentiment with the Making Me Smile Sentiments glimmer and die set in black, attach it to the center bottom of the card and decorate with the cut out butterflies.

There, that is what a Sunday Morning of foiling looks like.  I had so much fun with all these new plates, I hope you will give some of them a try.

  1. Dear Sandi –
These are stunning. I love that waterfall paper, first off. I think the “un-be-leaf-able” card and the “little things” are my two faves, but I also love that butterfly card at the end. Your work is beautiful!!

  2. Really gorgeous Sandi – all four of them. You certainly gave the waterfall cardstock some love this month. The designs are all so pretty – bravo!

  3. Just lovely! I’m particularly drawn to the Thanks oval card. It’s such a unique look with the pierced bkgrd & I love it! May need the new foil plate & dies!
