Hey card making friends, welcome back. I have two Spellbinders Autumn Scarecrow and Pumpkin Cards to share with you today created with the September Small Die of the Month and the second pumpkin card showcases the lovely and very elegant Autumn Chevron Embossing Folder. This embossing folder creates a beautiful backdrop for more pink and orange pumpkins with a bit of added bling from the Friendly Thanks Glimmer of the Month Club.
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.
When I was sorting all the dies from the Small Die of the Month club, Autumn Scarecrow onto my magnetic plate, I got quite excited for the sunflowers dies…..there is nothing prettier than a field of sunflowers in the fall, so that was my inspiration for the first card today.
Products Used:
- Autumn Scarecrow – September Small Die of the Month
- Autumn Chevron – Embossing Folder of the Month Club
- Friendly Thanks – September Glimmer Hot Foil of the Month
- Distress Oxide Inks: Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Gathered Twigs, Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn and Faded Jeans
Card Making Tutorial – Spellbinders Autumn Scarecrow and Pumpkin Cards – Card #1
Start with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ white card front and ink blend with Mowed Lawn up about a third of the way, and then the sky in Broken China and Tumbled Glass. Attach to a top folding A2 sized white card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2.
Next, die cut all the pieces needed for the scarecrow, crow, pumpkin sign 11 sunflowers and some additional pumpkin leaves. I cut most of them from colored cardstock, and then added ink blending around the edges to highlight. The scarecrows face is cut from white and colored with an E21 Copic Marker.
Then, Glue the scarecrow together and mount him to the card front with foam squares.
Next, wrap a pumpkin twine around the pumpkin sign before attaching it to the card with foam squares. Then add the crown.
Finally, add all the sunflowers across the bottom, and fill in the stem portion with the large and small pumpkin leaves.
Highlight with a #10 Sakura White Gel Pen.
Card Making Tutorial – Spellbinders Autumn Scarecrow and Pumpkin Cards – Card #2
Start with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ card front in white and emboss it with the Autumn Chevron Embossing Folder. Attach a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ pink sand card front to a top folding A2 sized white card base and then attach the embossed card front.
Next, cut out pumpkins, sunflowers and leaves from scraps of cardstock. Use blending brushes to add Distress Oxide Inks around the edges to highlight.
Then, arrange them across the front of the card and add a Glimmer Foiled sentiment from the Friendly Thanks Glimmer Set for September. This is Gold Foiled on another piece of Pink Sand card stock to coordinate with the background.

Oh my goodness, such cute cards! Love the fall images, the die cuts are fantastic! Great colors too! 🙂
Thanks Amy, I’m not a fan of fall at all, but these dies are super cute to play with, LOL
These are beautiful! I love them… and I love fall for the cooler temps and lower humidity. But the downside is that my flowers won’t be around much longer.

Thanks Lori, and I agree, it’s sad when summer ends, and I never look forward to the cold and snow, haha
These are fantastic! Love everything about the scarecrow card, including the crow!
And, yes, that is a super embossing folder, perfect for those pretty pumpkins!
Thanks so much Sharon, it was a bit of die cutting, but it was super fun to make the field of flowers, LOL
So cute, Sandi! Can’t wait to get my set and I love the idea of the sunflower field. Very clever way to change it up from the pumpkins! Your pumpkin card is so simple, clean, and adorable as well. Very inspiring!
Thank you Gayle, after cutting out all those sunflowers, I needed a super clean and simple second card, haha
The scarecrow is so stinkin’ cute!! Will let you know if I sign up for the club this month.
