Spellbinders Flower Market

Hi card making friends, welcome back.  Well, the 10th of the month brings NEW RELEASES from Spellbinders and today I’m sharing Spellbinders Flower Market cards.  I absolutely love these layered stencils and it was so fast and easy to create this simple but pretty cards.

For today’s cards I decided to use Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks.  Each color has a light, medium and dark so it’s really easy to do ink blends or in today’s case, shadow blending with them.

The stencils are a pack of layers,4 in the BLOSSOMING FLOWER and 5 in the CORNFLOWER.  They are number in the top left corner and have line up corner marks making them super easy to layer and use.

These are both A2 sized cards and I added a card front 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ with the stenciled image.

How to create the Spellbinders Flower Market card #1

Start with a piece of Hammermill white cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ attached to the Waffle Flower GRIP MAT

Next, lay down stencil #1 and add the lightest blue ink, Seafoam with a blending brush.  Then add Surf and Ocean along the bottom left side of each of the flowers.

Then, move to the second stencil (leaves), and use the Latte and Cappuccino inks to add leaves.

Finally, add the next two stencils and through them blend Black ink to add the highlights.

How to create the Spellbinders Flower Market card #2

Start with the same basic steps as in card #1 above.

Colors used:  Taffy, Lemonade, Pearfection and black.

I didn’t shadow any of these ones as I kind of wanted the black highlights on the flowers to really stand out.

Finally, the sentiments for both cards were white heat embossed onto black cardstock and are from the Clear Stamp and Die set for November called Sending Sentiments (this is an awesome sentiment stamp and die set for your stash).

  1. The Coneflower stencil is my favorite. Love layering stencils for quick, easy cards and your choice of bright colors really showcase the flowers.
