Spellbinders Gift Wrapping

Hi card making friends.  I have something a little different for you today, Spellbinders Gift Wrapping.  Spellbinders sent me a bundle of beautiful papers and ribbons back in October that was part of a new release for them called Butterflies Gift & Creative Papers.  There are quite a few different selections, and this paper is from Vol 109.  It’s so amazing, great quality, and folds nice and crisp too.

Spellbinders Gift Wrapping and die cutting

Once I had this beautiful little parcel all wrapped, I decided I just had to decorate it.  So I got out the Serenade Into Autumn dies from the  Serenade Into Autumn Collection.

I went through my Spellbinders cardstock and picked Blue Spruce, Chamomile (yellow) and mint.  I also added a little brown and vanilla for my oval die cut background.

How to create the Spellbinders Gift Wrapping parcel:

Start by wrapping your gift.  Mine is an empty box of chocolates, LOL,  hey, don’t judge – I needed the box, LOL.

Next, wrap some of the Satin Dark Green ribbon around, and then the Bordeaux Narrow Ribbon.

Then, use the Essential Modern Ovals Dies to cut two layers for a background from Blue Spruce and Vanilla cardstock.

Finally, die cut the leaves and flowers from the cardstock.  Ink blend each piece to add a bit of depth to them.  I used Distress Oxide Inks in:  Evergreen Bough, Mustard Seed and Gathering Twigs.

Putting it all Together:

Use liquid glue and foam squares to attach the leaves, poppy heads, and flowers to the center of the ovals.

Next, wrap the bottom section with the Hemp Cord #10.

Then, create a seal with the teal wax and the Sunflower Wax Seal.  Glue that overtop of the wrapped cord and place something heavy on it until it dries.

Finally, make a small red bow to add above the seal.  This helps to pull in the red from the wrapping paper.

It was really fun to sit and create something different from a card.  But, if your not into wrapping, the die cut piece would also make a beautiful card.
