I’m in full Christmas Card swing this week with another card this time using the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Ornament set to celebrate Spellbinders New HOLIDAY Release. I’ll jump into the details straight away and I’ve linked all the supplies used at the end of the post.
and this is perfect timing, Spellbinders announced last night, the Glimmer Foil Machine and a great selection of their Foils and Plates are ON SALE – check it out here.
What’s in the Die Set?
Great question, here you go. The ornament die to hot foil along with two sentiments (shown in brown). The remaining images are all dies to cut images. And Boy did I have fun with those.
The card is quite straight forward. I started by flicking white paint onto the card front and setting it aside to dry. I die cut all the foliage from white, blue, and two shades of green card stock and used my Clear Wink of Stella on the blue ones for some additional Glam.
Then I set up the Ornament on the Glimmer Machine with Gold Foil on white card stock. I ran it through and then cut it out. I foam mounted the ornament to the card front and built up my layers from there.
Next, I foiled both the sentiments (I couldn’t decide which one to use), and then die cut them with the Oval die included in the set. I foam mounted the oval to the center of the ornament for some added dimension.
The pictures do not do this gold foil justice. It is so beautiful, and so dang hard to take pictures of, haha. I used foam tape and white glue to attach the foliage and the poinsettia (aren’t the details in the foliage beautiful? and they cut like butter). I added a bow of gold rope and finally, a sprinkling of gold sequins.
This is my first go with this beautiful set, but there will be another appearance very soon as I had a blast cutting with the dies and heating that foil……wait till you see the turquoise ornament…..It’s my Jam!
