Hi crafty friends. It’s that time again. Today I’m sharing the Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle Glimmer of the Month for the Spellbinders Blog Hop. Oh Boy, do we have some fabulous samples to share with you this month, so grab a coffee and come along.
Giveaway:
To celebrate this release, Spellbinders are giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments on our blog. Giveaway closes on Sunday, February 14th, 11:59 pm MST. The winner will be announced on the Spellbinders blog post the following Tuesday. The winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties and taxes.
If you follow me regularly you know that I love to combine these monthly kits because I love to foil. So, again this month, I’ve combined the Small Die of the Month Kit “Trefoil Tile and Panel Card Creator” (the gold elements at the top and bottom of the card), and the beautiful Heart Melt Sentiments from Becca Feeken. These sentiments are truly beautiful and have outline dies to cut them out as well. (I’ve linked to them at the bottom of this post for you).
Creating the Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle Glimmer of the Month Card:
- Start by Gold glimmering the Scalloped Rectangles on Hero Arts Paradise card and white card.
- I find it easiest to cut all the pieces at 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 for ease of lining up the glimmer plates, and then trim them down afterwards.
- Attach them to a A2 top folding card base, adding foam tape under the white center piece.
- Foil one of the sentiments from the new Heart Melt Sentiments and cut it out with the outline die
- Cut two of the Trefoil Tiles twice in white and once in gold. Layer them and glue together with white glue.
- Attach the sentiment to the center of the card with foam tape
- Attach the trefoil tiles top and bottom with white glue
I think this card would also look fabulous in BLACK – don’t you?
On with the HOP – and don’t forget to leave comments for your chance to win:
You’ve arrived from Jackie’s blog, and now it’s time to hop on to visit Laurie. If you get lost along the way, here is a complete list of everyone playing this month.

Very nice card! I do think it would look great in black more elegant maybe!
TR
thank you, I was thinking that too, the gold would really pop, I’m going to have to give it a go
Fantastic cards! I love the color combination!
Love the cards!
very pretty – love your style!
I haven’t tried foiling yet, but am so interested in it after seeing your card!
I love the glimmer kit each month and can’t wait for mine to arrive with the other kits I get each month. Your card is lovely and I agree, it would look nice in black also. Thanks for the inspiration and ideas and for sharing your wonderful talent with us all. 🙂
aw thank you Julie, I’m addicted to foiling, haha, and all the other kits too
I love the foiling on here!
Sandi, the card you shared was absolutely stunning. I liked the clean look with the bright blue with the glimmering gold accented pieces on white. It makes a great statement. I think I’ll try black as well as the alternative you suggested. It should be just as stunning. Thanks for the inspiration.
Beautiful! I love the glimmer frames! So many sizes and so pretty. And wonderful to get a sentiment glimmer plate with the die.
Simply gorgeous!
