Hi card making friends and welcome back. Hope you are having an amazing Thanksgiving weekend with your family and friends or enjoying some quiet time by yourself doing something you love. I’m on the couch sick with the Cold, so our turkey dinner was chicken noodle soup, LOL. I finally got up the energy to edit the images and do this quick blog post for Spellbinders Small Die of the Month November. I combined them with the beautiful Glimmer of the month kit too as well as both beautiful Embossing Folders this month because I just can’t stop using them, LOL
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.
The small die of the Month set “Build a Card Hello” has some beautiful outline floral dies so I took the opportunity to do one of my favorite die techniques – the Inlayed Technique.
I went with a soft color pallet this time in pinks, light greens and white highlighting with gold for a soft elegant look. I added additional “background noise” using both club embossing folders for November.
Spellbinders Small Die of the Month November Card #1
Start by die cutting the image in white, gently remove from your die cutting machine trying to keep the piece intact. Use blending brushes to add ink blending to the flowers and leaves.
INKS USED: Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Celery, Limelicious, Cheeky and Bubblegum
Next, take a side folding white A2 sized card base, and cut the image again with the card base open, and the die along the left side of the card front. Only run it through the machine once, to hopefully only partially die cut so you just have an outline to follow.
Then, Die cut it again from a piece of Gold matte card stock. Take the gold outline pieces and glue them over the white card base piece.
Finally, glue in the ink blended inlays.
Next, cut a piece of Pink Sand cardstock 4x 1’4″ x 5-1/2″, place inside the Meandering Floral embossing folder and run it through the die cut machine.
Then, swipe a white pigment ink pad over the surface to highlight the embossing. When dry, glue to the underside of the die cut card front inlay you created to complete the card front.
Embellish with the Glimmer of the Month All You Need Sentiments and some small die cut flowers.
Spellbinders Small Die of the Month November Card #2
Repeat the first steps from above to create the smaller inlaid flower.
Next, create a top folding A2 sized white card base. Then cut a piece of Pink Sand 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″, emboss with the Criss Cross Motif Embossing Folder and attach to the top of the card front.
Then, add a strip of gold under that to act as the transition from embossed to smooth. Attach the inlaid flower in the bottom right corner.
Embellish with the Glimmer of the Month All You Need Sentiments and a few small gold flowers.
My final card for this month’s clubs – BETTERPRESS – Sentimental Mosaic
I LOVE playing with my BetterPress and this image is so beautiful. Unfortunately, with my cough and runny nose, I wasn’t feeling very creative, so you are getting a super easy clean and simple card.
I pressed it with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink in OCEAN. That ink also works great with the press.
Next, I used copic Markers in BG11, and BG13 to color in some of the design just to give it a bit of depth.
I finished it off with a die cut image from the Small Die of the Month, and a glimmer sentiment also from November.
That’s it my friends, stay safe and healthy and HAPPY THANKSGIVING
