Spellbinders Spring Smiles Easter Card and Gift Box

Hey card-making friends, welcome back. Today, I have Spellbinders Spring Smiles Easter Card and Gift Box created with more of Spellbinders’ Monthly Clubs. This time, I’m playing with the Stitched Dies of the Month, coloring the adorable images from the Clear Stamp and Die Set of the Month, and I also included the Wicker Basket Embossing Folder of the Month.

Affiliate links are used throughout this post at no additional cost to you.  This allows me to keep bringing you content.  I appreciate your support.

handmade greeting card with a mint card base, a white scalloped stitch boarder and a colored easter bunny in the center

Both of today’s projects are quick and easy to make.  Even the scalloped stitch frame only takes a few minutes to stitch and I used DMC #524 to stitch it, matching the cardstock color as close as I could with the floss on hand.

The Spring Smiles Stamp and Die Set has the most adorable critters.  Each are colored with Copic Markers and then cut out with the coordinating dies.  I had so much fun coloring them I have left overs, so I’m sure they will be on my next few projects.

Copic Colors used:

  • Bunnies:  W1, W2, W4, W5, W6, pinks:  R20, RV13, R22
  • Chicks:  Y00, Y11, Y15   Hats R22, R20, cheeks R20
  • Flowers:  R22, RV14, Y15, Y19, YG03 for the leaves

Spellbinders Spring Smiles Easter Card and Gift Box – Making the Gift Box:

Start by using the Ribbon Box Etched dies and cut out two Mint colored panels.

Next, stamp them with the flower stem stamps from the Spring Smile Stamp and Die Set in Simon Says Stamp Sage ink.  Then color the flowers and leaves with white and green colored pencils

Then, use a circle die to cut a window in one panel and cover it with a piece of clear acetate (I use overhead projector plastic, or packaging).

Finally, use a strong adhesive to attach the sides and bottom, fill with chocolate eggs and glue closed, adding a yellow satin bow to the top.  Decorate the front with a chick and a flower spray.

Spellbinders Spring Smiles Easter Card and Gift Box – Making the card

Start with a A2 sized top folding white card base, 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Next, cut a card front from mint cardstock, 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and emboss with the Wicker Basket Embossing Folder.  Use a blending brush to add Sage Ink to the embossing and then attach to the card base.

Then, die cut the scalloped stitched frame and stitch it with the DMC #524 cotton before attaching it to the center of the card front with foam tape.

Next, die cut the center stitched panel from FOG cardstock, emboss a sentiment in white and then attach it to the center of the frame.

Finally, use foam squares to attach one of the bunnies to the center.

I love how this card turned out.  It’s simple, but it has so many elements and texture.
