Spellbinders Stitched Hello Card

Hello card making friends and Happy May.  The beginning of each month is always so exciting to me as we get all new club kits from Spellbinders.  I’m sharing the Spellbinders Stitched Hello Card today created with the May Small Die of the month.  It’s my favorite because it’s another fun stitched die, this time with a big fat HELLO in the middle.  Take a close peek at the background too, there is a new Embossing Folder for May called Faux Stitch and it’s the perfect addition behind all of the beautiful stitching dies Spellbinders has.

I decided on  a bright summer feel for this card using Spellbinders card stock in:  Waterfall, Pink Sand, Poppy Red, Persimmon, Rainforest, and Teal Topaz.  I used the DMC embroidery cotton in Green 704, Pink 605, Light Teal 964, Dark Teal 3848, Red 321, and Orange 740.

How to create the Spellbinders Stitched Hello Card:

Start by cutting the stitched panel from a piece of Hammermill White cardstock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2

Next, use the above noted DMC embroidery cotton colors to stitched the flowers and leaves.

Use the letter dies in the Small Die of the Month kit to cut out Hello in a rainbow.

Finally, glue all the letters into place on the stitched piece.

Creating the Card Base:

Place a piece of Waterfall cardstock 4 x 5-1/4 into the May Embossing Folder of the Month Faux Stitch and run it through the die cutting machine to emboss it.

Next, tape it to the front of a top folding A2 White card base.

Place foam squares on the back of the stitched panel

Finally, attach the stitched panel to the center of the card base.

You could add some Essentials Gems in different colors, I decided not to with the embossed pattern in the background I felt it was enough.
