Spellbinders Story Time Gnomes

You know me, I love a good gnome.  They are so sweet, fun, and a bit mischievous, LOL.  They are even more fun to color, so I was pretty excited when I opened the Spellbinders Clear Stamp and Die Club Kit the other day – whoo hoo – 3 gnomes, and books and coffee.  We are going to have a fun time here, haha.  So Say hello to Spellbinders Story Time Gnomes.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.

Boy did I have fun coloring these little guys, I share the copic numbers below.  Then I decided to do two different backgrounds.  The first one uses the Checked Scallops Embossing Folder for March.  The second uses two of the Stencil Of the Month Club for March.

Both are super simple techniques, one you do the ink blending beforehand, the other after.  What about you?  do you like embossed backgrounds or stenciled backgrounds?

PRODUCTS USED:

Spellbinders Story Time Gnomes Card 1

Start with a white card front cut 4″ x 5-1/4″, and using blending brushes, add Distress Oxide Ink in Wilted Violet and Tumbled Glass.  Once the ink is dry, place the piece inside the Checked Scallops Embossing Folder and run through the die cutting machine.

Next, add a bit more ink to highlight the raised image.  Attach to a top folding A2 sized whited card base.  4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2.

Then, using a Misti, stamp the gnomes in copic friendly black ink, (I used Gina K Amalgam).  Color with Copic Markers and cut it with the coordinating dies.

COPIC COLORS USED:

Gray:  No, N1, N2, N3 Skin:  E21, R21, Pinks:  RV55, RV63, RV66, Violet:  V12, V15, V17 Blues: B23, B24, B26 Teal:  BG11, BG13, BG49 Yellow:  Y06

Next, cut the large books from the Stitched Die of the Month Club.  Use Lilac Blossom and Waterfall cardstock, and inlay the decorative pieces on the Lilac piece with brushed gold.

Finally, White heat emboss a sentiment onto a scrap of black cardstock.  Using foam squares, mount everything to the front of the card.  Embellish with Teal and Purple Essential Gems and highlight with a #10 Sakura Gelly Roll.

Spellbinders Storytime Gnomes Card 2

Start with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ white card front secured to your work surface and use the March Stencil of the Club kit to stencil the background in Distress Oxide Inks:  Broken China and Mowed Lawn.  Once the ink is dry, secure to a top folding A2 sized card base.

Next, using the Fluted Classic Circles dies, cut a white circle and attach to the center of the card front.

Then, stamp, color and cut out the coffee gnome, and the books from the other gnome, stack them together and attach to the card front.  Add a sentiment white heat embossed on a scrap of black.

Finally, embellish with the new Two Tone Teal Dimensional Dots and add highlights with the Sakura #10 white Gelly Pen
