Spellbinders Thankful For You Glimmer Cards

Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back. Today I have two Spellbinders Thankful For You Glimmer Cards to share with you. I’m using the September 2022 Glimmer of the Month kit for today’s share. With it’s beautiful and detailed leaf glimmer plate and the coordinating die, it has been engineered to create a diamond when you glue two pieces together. Also in this month’s kit is a pretty sentiment glimmer plate, floral plates and floral dies which I used to create the gold and white accents for today’s cards.

In the background of today’s cards you will also spot the September Embossing Club Embossing Folder – Scattered Fall. This is the new 5.5 x 8.5 size allowing you to emboss a variety of card sizes from a mini slimline, slimline, A2 and 5 x 7 just to name a few.

TIP – Spritz both sides of your card stock before embossing for a deeper embossed image.

While I have created fall cards for today’s share, this “Thankful For You” glimmer kit will work for all seasons of the year by simply changing out the color palette.

Supplies Used For Both of the Spellbinders Thankful For You Glimmer Cards:

How to create the Spellbinders Thankful For You Glimmer Cards:

Start by Glimmer Hot foiling in Polished Brass onto a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Hammermill White Cardstock (I have best results with this cardstock).

Next, use blending brushes to add the Distress Oxide Inks in Pine Needles, Ripe Persimmon and Fossilized Amber to the leaves.

Then, use a micro fiber cloth and rub the surface of the art piece to remove any ink sitting on top of the foil.

Finally, Glue the two pieces together to form the diamond.

Adding the Sentiment:

Start by Glimmer Foiling in Polished Brass onto a 4″ x 5″ piece of Terra Cotta and Black.

Tip – I always use larger than I need cardstock pieces and cut them down afterwards to ensure I can center the sentiment inside my die cut.

Next, die cut the sentiment with the Essential Diamonds Etched Die.

Then, use the next size up diamond die and cut a mat from Mirror Gold for each card.

Finally, glue them together.

Putting together the Spellbinders Thankful For You Glimmer cards.

Start by cutting card fronts for both cards. The Terra Cotta one is 4″ x 5-1/4″, the black one is 4″-1/4 x 5-1/2″.

Next, emboss each card front with the Scattered Fall Embossing Folder before attaching them to a top folding A2 sized White card base.

TIP – Create the card base by cutting hammermill white cardstock 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Use Scor-tape to attach the card fronts to the card bases.

Then use foam squares to add the glimmer art pieces, then the diamond sentiment centers.

Finally, die cut the gold branches and white berries and flowers. Glue them together and add them to either side of the glimmer art piece.
