Hello papercrafting friends and welcome back to my cardmaking blog. Today I’m sharing Stamping Bella Valentine. This card is a combo of cleaning out my scrap bin (background strips of cardstock), a teeny bit of Copic Coloring (the image), and a two layer die cutting (the heart). And actually, the stripped background is die cut too, I share my secret below.
Super fast and easy card to create with just a bit of die cutting and coloring fun. Download the FREE PDF to save in your card ideas binder too.
Let’s start with the adorable Image. This is Stampin Bella Happy Birthday Hoppy Poppy. It’s a small image, so perfect if you just have a few minutes to color. I list the Copics used in the PDF below.
As you can see, she has a little birthday sentiment that comes with her, so I changed it out and used the sentiment from Concord & 9th, All my Love, which you will see again in a few days.
For the background I dug around in my scrap for 3 different shades of coral/pink, then I used the strip die from my Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil, to cut them out. It makes such a nice finished edge on each piece.
Next I used my grid paper to line them up and adhere them to the front of a top folding A2 card base made from Neenah Solar White 110#. I used the white liquid glue as it gives me a few seconds to straighten the piece before it adheres. Of course once dry, I flipped it over and trimmed it.
For the heart I used the Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Hearts dies. It cuts that scallop out, but I used some washi tape to attach it back together, and then did just the outside piece in the medium pink as a border piece.
