Stitched Maple Leaf & New Distress Oxide Color

Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back.  Today I have a new card created with the Simon Says Stamp Large Stitched Maple Leaf but first, there is a new color in town.

Tim Holtz and Ranger Ink have released the next NEW Color in Distress Ink.  Say Hello to Rustic Wilderness….This beautiful dark Green is a must have, and just in time for the holiday season too.

Simon Says Stamp is now shipping and you can get the 8 piece Bundle with the enamel pin for $34.99 – HERE – or you can purchase individual pieces here

I’ll be sure to share some ink blends as soon as mine arrives.

On to the card of the day – My Large Stitched Maple Card:

Simon Says Stamp Large Stitched Maple Leaf

I receive these two dies ages ago and am just now getting around to playing with them LOL, My designing plate was a little full last month.  This month there is a little room to breath and sneak in some fun cards, so here’s a new 10 Minutes to WOW card for you, the PDF Tutorial is at the end of the post for you, just above the product list.

The Large Stitched Maple Die cuts out and adds the stitched lines to this beautiful leaf all at the same time.

All I did was color it with a few copic markers:  Y11, Y15, YR04 and E99.  I love it on this card, but you could also cut a bunch of them from colored card stock to decorate your home and wreaths.

How about place cards for your Thanksgiving table, I can think of a dozen ways to use this die, I think it’s a stash staple for sure.

The background Plate is another new favorite, also from Simon Says Stamp – Detail Ringlet Plate.  Run it through your die cutting machine and it pierces that beautiful design into your cardstock, perfect for almost any background don’t you think.

Finally, the sentiment was stamped and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Clean Line Gratitude Sentiment set, just perfect for this card!

A simple embellishment of a copper cord bow completes the card.  The copper cord is from my stash and very old, so not linked below, was probably Stampin Up.
