The Blingiest Birthday Card Ever

Today I have the Blingiest Birthday Card Ever, haha…..I’m playing with Simon Says Stamp Sparkling Candles Dies.  They are part of this month’s regular release over at Simon, and they are super cool.  They cut out the candle and the overlay at the same time, making it super quick and easy to put these candles together.  Let’s jump in with the Card Tutorial.

The blingiest Birthday Card Ever

For the background, I decided to make a BIG MESS and sprayed a bunch of watercolor paper with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays and Distress Spritz Sprays over top for the lovely glimmer.

The main colors used are:  Fossilized Amber, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Mowed Lawn and Salvaged Patina.

The Blingiest Birthday Card Ever – Card Making Tutorial

Start with a 5″ x 6″ panel of watercolor paper and spray it with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays.  This one is Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers, with Peacock Feathers Distress Spritz sprayed overtop while still wet.  Cut it down to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ for the card front.

Next, splatter with white and gold ink, and once dry, die cut the “sparkle” die from the Sparkling Candles Die set across the top.  then, attach to a top folding A2 sized white card base.  4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Then, using some of the other color spray panels, cut out the Sparkling Candles.  Then, cut out the overlay piece from Gold Glitter Paper and glue together.

Attach the candles randomly across the bottom of the card.

TIP – I used one of the solid gold glitter candles as a contrast.

The Blingiest Birthday Card Ever – Adding the Sentiment

Next, use the Boho Celebrate Dies to cut the sentiment from a purple sprayed paper and the shadow background from Gold Glitter Paper.  Attach with foam squares at the top of the card.

Finally, embellish with Simon Says Stamp Stay Gold Sequins.
