Well, it FINALLY got here.  What am I talking about?  Tim Holtz Mr. Rabbit stamp set.  With Easter being just next weekend, I was getting antsy, LOL.  It takes a minimum of 17 days for an order to arrive here from Simon Says Stamp so I have been stalking the post box, LOL.  Anyway, he is here and I spent all day yesterday playing with him and making paper to play with him, and coloring ribbon to play with him.

PRO-TIP – I used the Misti to stamp Mr. Rabbit onto some Bristol Cardstock.  Color him with colored pencils (I used Faber Castell, and then place him back into the Misti and stamp him again.  This refreshes all those lovely lines and really brings him to life.

How to create the Tim Holtz Mr. Bunny card:

Start by stamping, coloring and cutting out Mr. Rabbit and setting him aside.

Next, using Distress Oxide Ink Sprays:  Lucy Clover, Peeled Paint, Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon, cover an entire sheet of watercolor paper.  When the paint is dry, cut out a large tag with the Sizzix Tag Collection#658784, and the reinforcement circle from a piece of white cardstock.

Then, use a blending brush to add some Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink to the Reinforcement circle.  Glue it around the circle on the tag.

Stamp the tag with the sentiment stamp at the top, and the dots at the bottom, also in Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink.

While you have the sprays out, saturate some May Arts Wrinkled Faux Silk Ribbon and set on paper towel to dry.

 

Tim Holtz Mr. Bunny – Creating the card base:

Start with a piece of white card stock 7″ x 10″, score and fold at 5″.  Next, cut a piece of black cardstock 5″ x 7″ and attach to the card front.

Next, cut a piece of Tim Holtz blue/green cardstock 4.3/4″ x 6.3/4″ and attach that to the card front.

Then, cut a piece of white card stock 4.5″ x 6.5″.  Ink Blend with Distress Oxide Inks:  Brushed Corduroy and Gathered Twigs.  Distress the edges and add another layer of Gathered Twigs until there is no white torn paper showing

Stamp with the plaid stamp and Gathered Twigs Ink top left and bottom right corner.

Finally, lay the Blossom Layering Stencil over the piece and using Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink, add the floral design lightly around the edges of the piece.  Glue a foam mat to the back of it and then glue it to the card base.

Tim Holtz Mr. Bunny – Putting it all together.

Start by running a couple of pieces of the died ribbon through the top of the tag and tying it off with jute string.

Next, attach Mr. Bunny to the tag with foam squares and then attach the tag to the card front.

Then, add moss along the bottom of Mr. Bunny, and add some of the water colored Brushstroke Flowers #666284.

Finally, add two tiny buttons to his shirt, and the second layer of his bow tie.
