Tonic Studios Hey Snowmie Card #1
We had a huge showing of Northern lights a couple of days ago which inspired today’s background.
Spray a piece of watercolor paper with different shades of green and blue distress inks (colors linked below).
Next, once dry, lay the Hey Snowmie Stencil over the background and add Nuvo Embellishment Mousse – Aquamarine, Expanding Mousse – Tuscan Gold and Nuvo Glacier Paste in Pineapple and Green Envy to add colored snowflakes to the background.
The stencil has two designs on it so only covers 1/2 of the card front.. Let the first section dry completely, clean the stencil and then move down and repeat the second layer to cover the entire card front.
Next, tear a piece of white cardstock, stamp the sentiment and add it to the bottom of the card front representing snow.
Die cut the fabulous snowman and piece together.
TIP – Spray a bunch of watercolor papers in different shades and use them to die cut the scarf and hat bits for the snowman.
Add foam squares to the back of the snowman to pop him up a bit.
Card #2:
My Hey Snowmie card #2 is a bit more traditional.
Start by using the other side of the Hey Snowmie Stencil and some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse to create the snow for the background.
Tear a piece of white cardstock and use a Misti to stamp the sentiment in the bottom.
Next, attach to the card front to represent snow.
Use the Misti to stamp the image in copic friendly ink.
Finally, color with copic markers and cut out with the coordinating die.
Copic Markers Used:
Pinks: RV21, RV29, R35
Blues: BG11, BG13, BG49
Browns: E31, E35, E37, E99
Gray: N1, N3, N5, N6
Oranges: YR04, YR15
Next, die cut a star from yellow water colored paper and attach to the sky.
Finally, use a white gel pen to add a few highlights to the Snowmies.
This release includes the MIMI SLIMLINE ENVELOPE Die Set. – it includes an outside die to create the envelope and two decorative plates that create patterns. Perfect for all your mini slimline cards. There is also a great selection of tag dies included in this set.
