Valentine Bear Hugs

Hi crafty friends and welcome back to my cardmaking blog.  Except I’m not sharing cards today, I’m sharing felt Valentine Bear Hugs.

Adorable little felt bears to adorn my Valentine Bags……created with a very awesome die and felt from Ellen Hutson

I saw this die a bit ago over on the Ellen Hutson site, and she sells all kinds of felt too (linked below).  I make myself hats with felt flowers, so I thought why not, let’s give bears a try, and I have to say, so much fun, and this die cuts through felt like butter!…..even his little arms.

I did a few different ones, in a couple of different colors, and then used the smaller  “All Inside” bear stamp and die set to make additional paper tags.

The valentine cut out for the heart tags is the same one I used on my card from the other day – here, Scallop Hearts from Pretty Pink Posh – linked below.

I added a little embroidery to my bears and valentines before stitching and stuffing them.

The little nose is a die cut that you simply glue on and the mouth and eyes are simple embroidery.

I did the blanket stitch around the little hearts and added some embroidery details to the front piece before stitching and stuffing them together too.

I had a fun switch out day making these instead of cards.  They are very simple and would be a great project to make with your children too.  The die set also has a gift box, so you can decorate them for Christmas and Birthday’s too.
