Waffle Flower Holly Bird

Hi card making friends and welcome back.  Today I have Craft your Stash #2 and I’m creating with the Waffle Flower Holly Bird to make this adorable Christmas card.  I think I bought this stamp 2 years ago, along with the coordinating dies and the hexagon nesting dies.  So I knocked the dust off it and had a little fun.

I colored this sweet little guy with Copic markers but if you didn’t want to do that, you could stamp him twice, once on white, once on yellow.  Cut out the yellow one and sponge around the edges and then do the hat, holly and mug as an overlay.

How to create the Waffle Flower Holly Bird Christmas card:

Start by cutting the Ocean Mist card stock to 4 x 5-1/4.  Secure the Snowfall Background stencil over it and apply the Paper Glitz with a putty knife.  Set this aside to dry

Next, using a Misti, stamp the Holly Bird onto Hammermill White card stock 4-1/4 x -1/2 with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink (copic friendly).

Putting the card together

Start by die cut the Holly Bird with the coordinating die

Next, die cut a Hexagon from silver glimmer paper

Then, attach the blue card front to a top folding A2 White card base

Use Bearly art glue to attach the silver Hexagon

Use Foam squares to attach the bird to add a bit of height to him.

Finally, stamp cut and color another holly for the bottom of the hex and white heat emboss the sentiment onto a scrap of black card stock.

All in it took about 30 minutes to create this card.  It would be fun to mass produce about 10 of them in a day and I think that little holly bird is totally adorable.  What do you think?

  1. It’s adorable Sandi! And no Christmas card is complete without some sparkle, and the silver sparkle looks fabulous! I have a number of sets unused that are over 2 years old. I need a kick in the butt and some extra time to use them!
