1 Embossing Folder – 4 cards

Hey card making friends, welcome back.  Today my blog post covers 1 Embossing Folder – 4 Cards.  Often we purchase card making supplies because we saw a great card we liked.  We use it once to case that card and then it sits in our stash.  Right?  Happen to you?  Happens to me all the time.   I really enjoyed playing with this folder and decided to give it a bit more love and see what I could come up with.  I found 3 different ways to use this folder/die combo, and one I did in two colors.

4 handmade cards with hedge berries embossed on them created with new card making products from Simon Says Stamp

I’m using the New Hedge Berries Embossing Folder and Die from the recent Simon Says Stamp Holiday Sparkle Release – See the entire new release here.  This is another beautiful 3D embossing Folder with lovely leaves and berries with a large die for the center berry stem.

These cards all all quick and easy and you don’t need to be an artist to create them.  Of course with Christmas sneaking up on us, I did use Christmas sentiments on them all.  You could easily change out the sentiments to make them birthday cards or even sympathy cards if you needed one. (which I hope you don’t).

1 Embossing Folder 4 Cards  – Card #1

I’m starting with the easiest cards and working to the hardest.

Start by placing a 4 x 5-1/4″ piece of Simon Says Stamp Midnight Green cardstock into the embossing folder and running it through the die cut machine.

Next, use your finger to apply a small amount of VersaMark Ink to the raised portions, cover with gold embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.

I have a recent CARD MAKING VIDEO HERE – explaining this technique, however, I went much lighter adding the ink to these cards.

Cut the second card front from the green card stock at 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 and mount to the front of a top folding A2 sized White Card Base.

Attach the embossed piece to the card front.

Cut the stem from matt gold card stock, place inside the embossing folder and emboss.  Then, attach over the center embossed image.

Cut a 1″ wide piece of craft coagulated card stock across the front.  I got this as some packing recently, but you can use your crimper to create some with a piece of craft colored cardstock.

Just a plain piece of Craft Cardstock can also be used here:

Build this card exactly the same as card #1, except on white cardstock.  I wanted to try much lighter cardstock and I really love the contrast of the white on the gold.

1 Embossing Folder – 4 Cards – Card #3

Start by attaching a light green card front 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ to a top folding A2 sized Card Base.

Next, cut the stem 4 times from white cardstock and then emboss each one.

Then, using Bearly Art Glue with the fine tip, glue the stems to the card front.  Use the left over pieces to fill in around the edges.

Finally, die cut the two pieces of the Large Joy Sentiment Die from white and matt gold cardstock, layer and attach to the card front.

Start by embossing a piece of white cardstock 4 x 5-1/4

Next, use Copic Markers to color in the image.  Greens:  G21, G24, G28, Reds:  R36, R46, R59

Then, attach a piece of Midnight Green card stock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 to the front of a top folding A2 sized white card base, then attach the art piece.

Finally, cut the two pieces of the Large Joy Sentiment Die from red and matt gold cardstock, layer and attach to the card.

  1. Fabulous job, Sandi! Yes, happens to me all the time, too. I like all four cards but I think the last one is my fave.
    Great work!

  2. Oh it’s all too true, too many unused products and even more things used just once. It’s good to give a set more attention and your cards are beautiful Sandi. I love the die cutting element to these folders from SSS, you can get some much more from them!
