Floral Mix Background and Delicate Flowers

Hi friends, welcome back.  Today I created a couple of cards with products from the New Simon Says Release, Floral Mix Background and Delicate Flowers stamp sets.

I have been (impatiently) awaiting their arrival and had to drop everything and play yesterday as they are all floral, my absolute fav.

Floral Mix Background and Delicate Flowers

The Floral Mix Background stamp is a big 6 x 6 red rubber stamp and while I’m looking forward to water coloring it, today I white embossed it onto my card base to create a little “background Noise”.  I wanted these cards to be super clean and simple so the intricate details of the dies showed through, but the plain white card base just wasn’t speaking to me, haha.  Therefore, this was a simple solution and shows how multi use these background stamps can be.

As these dies cut a thin frame around the art piece, it gave me an opportunity to back it with a little bit of fabulous.  Today I chose a watercolor background created with the Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens.  I used the Summer Holiday and Ocean Air sets, and in particular the colors:  Aqua Splash, Lemon Zest and True Turquoise. (video for this background coming next week).

The sentiment for the card is from the Delicate Flowers Stamp set also from this release, and believe me, with all those beautiful flowers and sentiments, you are going to see a lot more of this stamp set here on my blog.

Let’s talk about the dies:

Dahlia Frame S643 and Corner Frame S642  had my heart the moment I saw them.  You can use them as a frame over a pretty background: do the inlaid technique, watercolor them, so many ideas.  Look at the beautiful detail cut into that fabulously skinny frame – it’s perfection.  And they cut like butta!  I mounted them on foam tape to pop them up just a little bit.

My cards are also created for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – this week it’s “HAPPY BIRTHDAY”, and these cards are in fact birthday cards for some friends.  Play along for a chance to win a gift certificate from Simon Says Stamp – and not one gift certificate this week – 10 0f them – Thank you Simon Says Stamp and Happy 10th Birthday to you.

Thanks so much for visiting me today and I hope you enjoyed the project.  I’ve listed the products I used below.  Clicking on the image will take you directly to the product.  Where available I use compensated affiliate links which means if you make a purchase through my link, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.  Thank you so very much for your support, it helps to keep my blog and YouTube channel running and I truly appreciate it.
