Hello my card making friends and welcome back. Today I’m sharing Tonic Studios Flora Background colored with the Nuvo Alcohol Markers.
First I wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year. Thank you so much for your support in the past year from visiting my blog, downloading pdfs, leaving your wonderfully kind comments here on my blog, on my Business Facebook Page and over on Instagram. I read and appreciate every single one of them.
So let’s jump in to a brand new year of paper crafting and card making shall we.
My card today also qualifies for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge for this week – you can view all the great card submissions here:
I have had this stamp for a few months now, it’s one of my favorite background stamps but today I decided to color it and make it the focal point of my card.
I used the Nuvo alcohol Markers to color it. If you are new to alcohol makers, these might be a great place for you to start:
Tonic Studios has their Nuvo Alcohol Markers packaged by color, with a light medium and dark in each, taking the guesswork out of which markers to order
They have a thin and a chisel tip, for fine detail or coloring in large spaces.
They have a great price point for trying them out without breaking the bank.
They have a good selection of colors to choose from as well.
You can also order them from many sources: directly from Tonic Studios, Simon Says Stamp and Scrapbook.com (I have them linked below for you).
I started by placing a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock into my Misti to stamp the image in Memento black ink (alcohol ink friendly).
I used the Aquamarine set to color the flowers, the light and medium from the Pebble Beach for the leaves, and the light and medium from the Emerald Seas for the background. That’s 7 markers in total to color the entire image.
I matted this to a piece of Gold Mirror card stock and then attached it to my base of Neenah Desert Storm.
My only embellishment is a few gold sequins to pull the background gold into the image.
Thanks so much for visiting me today and I hope you enjoyed the project. I’ve listed the products I used below. Clicking on the image will take you directly to the product. Where available I use compensated affiliate links which means if you make a purchase through my link, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Thank you so very much for your support, it helps to keep my blog and YouTube channel running and I truly appreciate it.
