Happy Sunday my craft friends. Hopefully you had a great week and are enjoying your weekend. Today we have Poppy Bouquet Stencil Part 2 again using the Poppy Bouquet Stencil from the NEW Simon Says Stamp Send Happiness collection that went live earlier this week.
My Icelandic poppies are blooming in my garden and I love their soft colors and happy faces. I’m using them as my inspiration for today’s color choices.
Also, Distress Oxide Inks are in play again today as I love the way they blend together for those beautiful chaulk like colors. It’s also fast and easy to create beautiful cards with these inks.
Card #1 Colors:
Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, Wilted Violet, Festive Berries, Candied Apple and Twisted Citron.
Each of the card fronts are die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles die for some added interest without bulk.
Card #2 Colors:
Similar to card one, but toned down just a bit with Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, Festive Berries and Twisted Citron. Blending both the colors into each flower adds highlights.
Masking the flowers off with Post it Tape allows each flower to be blended individually without transferring colors to unwanted portions of the stencil.
For the Poppy Bouquet Stencil Part 2 – Card #3
A cluster of similar colors: Fossilized Amber and Ripe Persimmon with Twisted Citron for the stems.
I love the black centers in these delicate flowers, for that reason I used black jewels on my cards.
Finally, the black sentiments are from the CZ Designs Sentiment Strips Miss You Hey Bestie. These sentiments are printed on thick card and you just pop them into your cutter and cut them into strips to then easily adhere them to your cards.
For the Poppy bouquet Stencil Part 2 cards:
Neenah Solar White 110# – 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2 – card base
Neenah Solar White 80# – 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 – card front – die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles Die
