Hi there crafty friends and welcome back. Today I have something a little different for you. Button and Daisy Chrysanthemum Etched Dies from Spellbinders. I actually made this card a couple of months ago but the dies have been so popular they have been sold out so I waited until they were back in stock – and yeah! They are.
There is a new die series over at Spellbinders created by the amazing Susan Tierney Cockrane and this button and daisy chrysanthemum etched dies set is just one of them, you can view them all here.
Flowers and gardening have always been a passion of mine and my mother’s too. My mom passed last week so I’m dedicating this card to her. She loved flowers, especially purple flowers.
Button and Daisy Chrysanthemum Etched Dies Instructions:
You can use these beautiful dies a couple of ways, cut the pieces from colored card stock and build them.
Cut them from Neenah or Hammermill white card stock and color them with your copics, or, cut them from watercolor paper and watercolor them as I have done here.
I used the Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers (on sale right now) to watercolor mine and a water brush to move the ink around as I wanted the centers darker than the tips of the flowers.
For some added interest, I added a couple of layers to the background on this card.
I started by gold foiling the largest of the essential glimmer rectangles and laying that down on my cards base.
Next I die cut the Picot Petite Ovals dies from Becca Freeken twice, once in gold and once in white. On the white piece, I gold foiled the sentiment from the For You set.
Finally, I added a few FSJ Fashion Gold Embellishments. I love the quiet elegance of this card and the dimension of the florals.
