Happy Monday my cardmaking friends and welcome back. Today I have two cards to share with you created with the Spellbinders April Small Die of the Month kit. Actually one also combines the dies from the Large Die of the Month Kit for April as well as they coordinate so beautifully together.
Both of today’s cards are SLIMLINE CARDS. I love creating these long slim cards and the additional creative real estate they provide
The Large Die of the month kit dies:
Are long enough to create slimline cards and can be used for mini slimline and A2 sized cards as well. I decided to make both of these slimlines as I just love the extra creative space you get with them.
Today’s slimline finished size is 3-3/4 x 8-3/4. I cut my paper at 7-1/2 x 8-3/4, score at 3-3/4 and burnish well.

Starting with the Spellbinders April Small Die of the Month Kit.
Rainbow cards are all the rage right now so I decided to create one with not only my letters, but my stitching as well.
The main die in the kit is a stitched die which I absolutely love as I used to cross stitch a lot. If you don’t, you can always use fine tipped markers and just draw the lines in, that’s really pretty too.
I chose a rainbow of card stock and then matched up my embroidery cotton to do the stitching. It’s a bit time consuming, but I watched a movie at the same time, and it took about 2 hours.
Next, I used the alpha dies (also included in this kit) to cut the coordinating colors for my rainbow to create the word “thanks”
The card base is 3-3/4 x 8-3/4 and I added a 3-1/2 x 8-1/2 card front in Waterfall card stock.
Finally, I mounted the stitched card front with foam squares onto the card.
For a bit of bling, I colored some pearls with my copic markers in similar rainbow colors to add to the flower centers and around the stitched image.
Today’s Second card :
This Slimline card combines both the Spellbinders Large die of the month kit and Small Die of the Month kit for April.
I used three shades of blue and cut the Universal Curved Borders in three layers.
Next I took the middle shade and die cut the “thanks” to attach to the top of the card
Finally, I used the floral and leaf dies from the Large die of the month kit to add a bunch of flowers around the sentiment.
This is a super fast and easy card and the die cutting goes very quickly.
My final embellishment is white pearls for the floral centers.

thank you Bonnie, I loved stitching that one, so fun
So pretty Sandi! Love the colors and your layering is perfect. Awesome set of dies! 🙂
thanks Amy, awesome dies and so fun to stitch too
Hi Sandi
I love the Thanks cards you just posted. Can you tell me which die set you used to cut the letters for THANKS. They are diecut as well as embossed. I hope it’s a full alphabet and now just the single word.
Hi SUsan, it’s the Small Die of the Month set, it comes with the floral that you stitch and the letters for the word thanks
Thanks Sandi. I really was hoping it would have been a full alphabet. I love the font and it would be excellent for scrapbooking. Oh well, maybe they’ll come out with it later on. Fingers crossed!
No problem Susan, and yes they often do. I’ll let Yana know that you would like it, sometimes if enough people ask they bring something in.
These are so pretty! Thanks for the inspiration. I forgot to skip this shipment and I was wondering how those large dies worked.
they are awesome, you will love them Annette
Truly beautiful cards, great for inspiration. Thank you for your inspiration.
